Just getting things done.

Where are we today ?
clic a pic to enlarge it
Just another great night's sleep and as usual up to look for a sunrise, but could not find it this morning.
But we did find clear blue sunny skies and pretty warm temperatures. Gotta love that !
another perfect fall day
About 9 am I headed into to New Hamburg for a few more stock up things, Our vacuumed sealed old cheddar cheese that we love, some natural products that we use and check for our meds, Not ready yet  tomorrow we will be good to go. But gonna be back there tomorrow anyway.
Back home by 10 am  and got our turkey prepped and into the cooker we borrowed from SIL Sandy. These cookers work wonderful and sure does the trick for us.
As I have done for years I cook the Turkey Breast side down. makes the breast very moist and the Turkey wonderful.
turkey in the cooker at 3:25F  for almost 4 hours,
It was 17 lbs
In the meantime we enjoyed this wonderful property here, walkabouts down the rear of the yard and checking out the bush, Gota love this very relaxing peaceful area.
By 3:330 our Turkey was done. So I set it on a pan and let it cool for a bit. Pulled it apart and set the meat and skin in a pan with the broth, I will carve it up tomorrow. When it has cooled down.
turkey cooling and will pull it apart
Now we can relax on the patio here and enjoy our e-readers.Them of course Gus (the cat) had to join us and another kitty fix for Suzie
Gus was in her lap but now curled up on the chair
Then a happy hour with Ross on their lovely patio.
Soon  time for supper . I whipped up a salad and Ross grilled some amazing tenderloin
steaks for us.
he is pro with steaks
Suzie and her sister Rose
salute'd Mushrooms an onions for the steaks
what a feast sure hit the spot tonight
Then was such an amazing evening on thier patio still 70 F (21c) so a campfire is on order for a while.

What can I say about this amazing lifestyle that I have not said before, . Gotta love it.

  4. What a fun time it looks like! Those steaks and salad looked awesome. Beautiful day and beautiful place. Your turkey looks perfect. I cook mine breast down too, but never thought of doing it in a slow cooker. By the way...my spaghetti squash with the red sauce and veggies was awesome thanks to you :)

    1. It is always a fun time with them. This cooker worked wonderfully, breast side down keeps the breast so nice and moist.
Glad you enjoyed the spaghettis squash with the red sauce, so many great ways to serve it.

  6. I'm impressed that you didn't jump right in and start eating that turkey! I'd be hard pressed to not give in to that temptation! ;c)
