Where are we today ?
Gonna be a wonderful hot day, just the way we (I) like it. Early morning walkabout town t-shirt and shorts was wonderful. Stopped by the garage chat with the guys and back home to begin our Tv Reno. The old one is about toast, old technology and need to be repaired. Nobody fixes tv's anymore so time for a new one. 16 years old and has served us well. Built into the dash of our coach only 22 inches but its having issues. Nothing new will fit there so after researching and measuring found that I can work in a large 32 inch LED tv , lighten out coach and have more storage.
Couple days ago we picked up this 32 inch Tv at "Canadian Tire" on sale for $219.00 plus we still had $45.00 in Canadian Tire money so it was a good deal. Tried it out and will work just fine. But I need to do some modifications. "I can do that" I says!

Took the old tv to Dundee Recycling about 10 minutes away. They weighed it (44lbs!) and got $3.50 for it, paid for the gas go go there at least. Better than nothing! New Tv about 8 lbs!

Just puttered some more, and bite for lunch. Then walked to the park in town for 1 pm they having a car cruise there. When I arrived about 50 or so cars there, old music playing, food available and some great looking cars as well.
Below is a few picks of some of the nicer ones I checked out.

Glad you could stop by again, but time to call in a night,, Gotta go inside now getting too dark. Watch out new tv for a few minutes.
Check out the interactive map below to see where we have been this Spring and Summer.
Love those old beetles.
ReplyDeleteYeah me too had 3 of them '59, '60 and a 1973. fun to drive and easy to fix.
DeleteNice looking cars George. I can't believe you came up with $45 worth of CT money!!!!! Strawberry shortcake - be still my heart!
ReplyDeleteTeresa I collect over $200. of CT money on our Mastercard, every year, just got 2 tires for our car free too. Guess you missed that posting.
DeleteThe fresh local strawberries =awesome.
Strawberry shortcake and a new TV installation! Life is Good! I look forward to watching the progress of the install.
ReplyDeleteThe install will be fun, once I figure out what to do.
DeleteIf you keep going to the old car display, you might just end up taking one home with you someday.
ReplyDeleteNot much chance of that, been there done that, where would we put it?
DeleteA towed maybe???
The quality of that new HDTV will improve your viewing experience.
ReplyDeleteNice photos of those lovely classic cars and trucks.
The Picture quality is wonderful, love it !
DeleteWow, nice TV! It sounds like a great day - especially with the strawberry shortcake...
ReplyDeleteWas a great day all around, love the tv, even though we don't watch it much.
DeleteYou sure pack a lot into one day! I hadn't thought about how much old TVs weigh... but for weight conscious RVers that could be something to consider. (weight of the TV, not the person ;-)
ReplyDeleteThe day just came together.
DeleteWith the tv removal and our personal weight loss our coach is over 100 lbs lighter!
That's cool that you can get a little cash for an old clunker of a TV. I've been quite happy to just get rid of them all. The last one being that huge thing we had in the basement. Took three of us to hoist it up the stairs. What a monster.
ReplyDeleteAt least I had place to dispose it and a few bucks was a bonus too.
Deletecool cars!
ReplyDeleteYes they, were I enjoyed checking them out too on a beautiful day.
DeleteAnother full day, your salad looks so good.We don't get cash for old tv's here.
ReplyDeleteThis is a recycle place pays cash for most everything a big bonus.
DeleteGot $50. a couple years ago for 2 6 volts batteries from our coach too.
Those old cars are so beautiful. Not like our cars today that all look alike. Love your new TV. You done good on the remod.
ReplyDeleteStill have work to do, a work in process.
DeleteI enjoy seeing the old cars. You got your moneys worth from the TV - we just replaced our last TV of that style and it took two to carry it.
ReplyDeleteSuch huge heavy things they were, glad to get rid of it!
DeleteSounds like a very full but productive day. I am going to try that salad very soon. Happy Father's Day George.
ReplyDeleteThanks Contessa , enjoy the salad.
DeleteSo you had eyelashes on your beetle too? ;c)
ReplyDeleteNo I didn't never thought of them way back when....
