Tv reno in progress, car show, visiting moms and amazing weather, pretty awesome day it was !

Where are we today ?
Gonna be a wonderful hot day, just the way we (I) like it. Early morning walkabout town t-shirt and shorts was wonderful. Stopped by the garage chat with the guys and back home to begin our Tv Reno. The old one is about toast, old technology and need to be repaired. Nobody fixes tv's anymore so time for a new one. 16 years old and has served us well.  Built into the dash of our coach only 22 inches but its having issues. Nothing new will fit there so after researching and measuring found that I can work in a large 32 inch LED tv , lighten out coach and have more storage.
Couple days ago we picked up this 32 inch Tv at "Canadian Tire" on sale for $219.00 plus we still had $45.00 in Canadian Tire money so it was a good  deal. Tried it out and will work just fine. But I need to do some modifications. "I can do that" I says!
this be the old tv
it is huge and very heavy
this be the new tv, love it!
Took the old tv to Dundee Recycling about 10 minutes away. They weighed it (44lbs!) and got $3.50 for it, paid for the gas go go there at least. Better than nothing! New Tv about 8 lbs!
we take our stuff here for cash
Just puttered some more, and bite for lunch. Then walked to the park in town for 1 pm they having a car cruise there. When I arrived about 50 or so cars there, old music playing, food available and some great looking cars  as well.
Below is a few picks of some of the nicer ones I checked out.
love the eye lashes
this a 1972 VW beetle, similar to my 1973
love the matching kiddie car
amazing Chevy
And ran into an old friend Steve has this extreme rod, one of many that he has built, Chatted with him for quite a while, remembering old times.
Steve's hot rod
He also had this 1970 chevy pick up he buitl for his wife Colleen. Looks amazing too1 He bought a frame and ownership for $100.00 and spent 51 weeks to build this truck for his honey. Runs amazing too.

Then walked back home and grabbed Suzie, off to New Hamburg the Strawberry Social today at Nithview, the senior's residence where her Dad and Mom reside.
Got her dad to come down and join us and boy did we have a feast! Huge servings of strawberry shortcake with local berries and ice cream! Amazing it was !

Then  back to visit her mom for a while she visited more and I whipped into Kitchener visit my Ma for a bit. She doing just fine.
Picked Suzie back up and back to Plattsville. I whipped up a Seafood Salad for a Father's Day brunch tomorrow.

Then after making our supper salad I grilled some bacon for a casserole I gonna make on Monday.

That was another fun productive day for us, great weather but still not enough hours.
Glad you could stop by again, but time to call in a night,, Gotta go inside now getting too dark. Watch out new tv for a few minutes.

  7. You sure pack a lot into one day! I hadn't thought about how much old TVs weigh... but for weight conscious RVers that could be something to consider. (weight of the TV, not the person ;-)

With the tv removal and our personal weight loss our coach is over 100 lbs lighter!

  8. That's cool that you can get a little cash for an old clunker of a TV. I've been quite happy to just get rid of them all. The last one being that huge thing we had in the basement. Took three of us to hoist it up the stairs. What a monster.
