Where are we today ?

last nights sunset |
Just more wonderful weather this morning, sunshine and temps about 60 f (15c) at 6 am a great start for the day. Got my walkabouts done and headed over to Forest 15 Minutes down the road for a few items. First stop was the Canadian Tire store for some undercoating spray for our coach. Noticed a sign that they had a special on car tires. So I check it out. Need 2 tires for our car before we head south this year. And we lucked out! they had 2 tires in stock and were on sale for half price until tomorrow. So for $38.00 each grabbed them. Bonus too was we had more than enough Canadian Tire money to pay for them ! Gotta love free tires. Now I checked their installation cost to install balance and rotate was $70 plus taxes !! Not! So grabbed the tires and checked out the Garage in Arkona, they ended up doing that for $40.00. I Would rather give the local garage my business at a decent rate than an over priced chain store.

took the new tires with me in the car |
While in Forest I stopped by the small farmers market here. Not much other than crafts and stuff we don't need, but they did have some fresh local strawberries. Nothing quiet like local produce when we can get it, so much nicer them the berries we have been getting from California! But the ones from California is better than none.

so sweet and juicy |
Heading out of town this oversize load came down the road, he had a bridge on his trailer.
Back home a bite of lunch then had the tires installed. At the local garage.
Then came to check and see how Rich and Marylou made out with their satellite system. The reset did not fix the issue so they picked up a new receiver for their Shaw/direct Satellite system Got it all hooked and seems like the issues are resolved. They now have a signal that is constant but still a fuzzy picture on their TV. Beyond my knowledge , but at least it works better than before.
Now back to our camp put some pork ribs on our Weber Q with plain water wrapped in foil to simmer for an hour. Drained the water off a added some honey garlic sauce, (extra Garlic added) to boil the ribs for about 20 minutes.
Then I set the ribs on the grill and basted with the thickened sauce for a few minutes until nicely charred. Added to my tasty salad and really enjoyed some fall of the bone Honey Garlic pork ribs.

ReplyDeleteYes it sure is !
DeleteHaving the satellite working is mighty important. At least it is to us. We all need tires so it's a good thing when we can find them on sale.
ReplyDeleteIt was good and I just happened to check out the store today.
DeleteIf the old tires would have lasted until before you left in the fall you could have waited to install them.
ReplyDeleteBe Safe and Enjoy!
It's about time.
Good point...it's usually me who would think of that. Why waste good rubber?
DeleteRichard, did you forget we were are fulltime where do we store these tires?
