  4. I am so sad to hear about this. I send my deepest heart felt empathy and condolences to you and your family.

Suzie, please take solace in the fact that he touched so many people in a positive way. George was an inspiration to me in my early days of retirement, as I contemplated my RVing adventures. He always had tremendous patience answering all my questions and welcomed me with open arms. He will always be remembered for his optimism, calm demeanor, willingness to tackle anything and positive attitude about life. I will always remember my wonderful times with you both.

  10. My sympathies to you and your family. George lived life to the fullest, and the fact that he had so many friends and Internet acquaintances, shows that people recognized the positive spirit and love of life he exemplified. May he rest in God’s eternal peace. Although I never had the opportunity to meet him, I will miss him.

  20. I am so sorry to hear this Suzie! George was truly one of a kind and will be long remembered in the RVing community for being such a great ambassador of the lifestyle and for his eagerness to help others whenever and wherever he could. Like it has been said, he went on his own terms. I will always remember his infectious smile!

Now your focus must shift to looking after yourself! I know all of this has taken a toll on you (as Norma's recent death did to me). It is still one day at a time but this time it is for your recovery.

  25. I had a feeling this morning when I didn't see an update Tuesday night that the next update may not bring good news. We will all miss George's big smile, positive attitude, and culinary skills complete with photos, plus his 'because we can' attitude. The focus for health and happiness is now on you Suzi. Kelly and I send to you the only thing we can and that is all the best wishes for you and your future. Take care of yourself...…………….

  29. Oh so heartbroken. I kept hoping there might be a turn, but we could see how he was struggling the last few days. I am so glad the two of you had time alone to talk and share and be together for his journey. My memories of our meeting at Bloggerfest will be extra sweet. What a unique man your George was. I'm glad you two had so many good travel years to share. I'll never open the lid of my weber q without thinking of George. I do hope you keep his recipes up to share. Wishing you the best possible life as you go forward, Suzie. Thank goodness you are close to family.

  31. I am so very sorry for your loss Suzie and for your families loss as well. I sit here on Stone Island, Mazatlan, Mexico where I first met you both exactly ten years ago. George was even bigger in life than what readers saw in his blog posts. A very special caring and giving person with a mega watt smile. I will never peel another shrimp without thinking of George. Wishing you and your families comfort and prayers in the days to come. Thank you dear friend for taking the time to keep the blog world updated. Sending you comfort and hugs.

  33. We sit here in Emerald Cove, one of your favorite places, in total disbelief. I mean we knew it would happen but somehow just hoped beyond hope that some miracle would at least give him a few more months or even years. We will miss that wonderful smile and his 'come what may' attitude that we should all make a part of our lifestyle. It sure worked for him.
Whenever I fire up the Weber Q I keep thinking if George would have made this meal a bit different. I refer to his recipe file regularly because I know it was tested and 'George approved'. His advice on all things related to RV'ing was sound and you couldn't go wrong by following it.
George leaves a huge whole in our hearts and in our RV family. I know he would want us to help fill that void by lending a hand or a helpful suggestion to a fellow RV'er.
Our deepest sympathies to you Suzie and your families.
