Where are we today?
Stratford, Ontario

George had a good sleep until about 4 am when he started with pain. He was restless for a while and then fell back to sleep. He slept most of the day.

He had some split pea soup for lunch.

My sister and brother-in-law stopped by for a visit. He knew they were there but was very tired. I think because of pain, his body needs to rest.

I came home early to get some things accomplished here at home, like do laundry.

I will probably order supper to come to me rather than trying to cook something that we have and is frozen. George never likes to cook something from frozen, unless a hamburger.

I am sure that all of you blog followers know who is typing and understand. George wants me to continue updating you all for the present time. There is definitely a difference on our thoughts.

Overall, not a bad day but also not a great day.

As always, thanks for your prayers, best wishes and especially for stopping by and comments. I read them all and read them to George when he is awake.

  11. I remember when my dad had cancer and I was his 2nd in line caretaker along with hospice. The last thing in the world I wanted to do at the end of the day was talk about the day...so thank you.

  22. Through you Suzi, George is trying to hang on as long as he can and stay in touch with his blog followers and friends. Blogging is a hobby and is one of Georges favorite things. But blogging is not everyone's hobby and we understand the difficulties you face at the end of these very emotionally difficult days. All's we can do is wish you both the best through these strenuous times.

  26. Pain certainly takes its toll on the patient, but also on the caregiver. Your dedication to keeping your friends update I am sure is hard on one hand but blogging sure makes informing the masses much easier than making phone calls. Love to you both.

  31. I spent time with my Dad in 1992 when he went through the same thing George is going through now and I understand how hard it is for you. There wasn't a Hospice in Stratford in those days and it was the VON nurses who came in daily and looked after things and it was those fine ladies who helped we family members cope and understand what was happening day by day. My Dad had abdominal cancer and I can still hear the sound that pain pump made every time it administered each dose of pain medication. Thank you Suzie for the updates.
