Moving on down the road on a foggy day.

Where are we today ?
clic a pic to enlarge it
Rain again overnight. But was just a light mist this morning so did get a short walkabout. Coffees consumed and computing done. We secured the coach and Suzie left at 8:30 , to pick up her Dad in New Hamburg and take to a doctor's appointment. I pulled out just before 9 am, and travelled some very foggy back roads to Stratford stopping at Canadian Tire to top the coach up with fuel. Was down to 1/2 a tank, the last fuel up in Michigan back on April 10th. Does not feel so bad putting in $160.00 worth of fuel compared over $300.
heading out of  Rock Glen it was foggy
and most the drive to Plattsville
From there headed to Plattsville where we enjoy parking in John's 5 acre yard. We call this our Camp Awesome just because it is, Awesome here. So quiet and peaceful here and love the scenery. We have a few things to do in the area. and if the weather co-operates would like to get out and do some yard cleanup maybe even mow some lawn.
this be our spot for a while as long as we want
nice wide open spaces
the lawn is growing needs to be cut
I stopped by Pettigrews Garage to talk to Dale bout a few issues with our coach that he will address when the weather and his time permits. Back home and a walk down River Road  to check out the Nith river right behind us. And as I expected was pretty full from all the rain , but flowing nicely.
many memories of good times here
on this river over the years fishing
 and boating with the kids
flowing nicely with the spring rains
nice trail right across from us
I will check out when it gets drier
right behind us the, weeping willows and
getting green again
Now at 3 pm we had spent most of our day outside, puttering around and reading enjoying this wonderful very warm day. We enjoyed a quiet happy hour with the birds chirping.
yes it was a wonderful very warm spring day
even saw a few mosquitoes? WTH!
Soon was time to whip up supper, so grilled a couple of smoked pork chops to go with our salad and the last of our yummy broccoli tots. Yes Shirley we love these.
not long these chops are heated up
fall apart and so very tasty
now that was perfect ending to
 a wonderful short travel day
We gonna hang out here for a while and enjoy this awesome place and move on down the road when the time comes. No visible sunset tonight so no pictures. This is Ontario not many can be seen here. I post this blog and read outside until 8 PM cooling down to 60F (16C)  time to head inside and enjoy a quite evening with my sweetie.
Thanks once again for joining us and hope you had a great spring day as well.

  4. Yes I love that spot. I always enjoy the way you clean it up for the owners, keeping the grass cut and picking up. Have a nice stay.

  5. Nice to be back to Camp Awesome. enjoy the week. I agree that it looks like you need dryness before you can walk that trail.
We get lots of beautiful sunsets in our part of Ontario, we just need the sunshine!

    1. It is nice to be back here and get things taken care of. Nice when the rail dries up before the bugs come out. Sunset here too but not so much with the bushes off to the west of us. We do get some wonderful sunrises though when the sun is shining.

  7. Could you guys not make camp Awesome your permanent place? With 5 acres there surely must be a little spot you could set up perhaps with some permanent water and hydro if not a full hook-up. It looks ideal to me. Anyway have a great time there.

    1. Marlene, it is ideal, but we don't much like to stay in one place very long, We do have some hydro,15 amp, access to water and can get pumped out. We always have a good time here. Not ready to settle down yet, not old enough, lol... Having owned 11 houses, and moved 21 times before we went full-time, this is much more our style.
