Happy Mother's Day, and a cool visit to the Pinery Flea Market in Grand Bend.

Where are we today ?
clic a pic to enlarge it
First , we hope all the Mother's out there had a wonderful Mother's Day.

A great nights sleep and heck I slept in again! wow 6:30 this morning, 2 more extra hours of sleep, not used to this. Still kinda chilly out 45F (7C) but not raining yet. I headed out for my first walkabout then home another coffee.
Lots of Cabins rented this weekend
love this Old house in Thedford,
kinda looks spooky
Then about 9:30 we headed into Grand Bend first stop the Pinery Fleamarket we love. Even though it was chilly we walked the whole market pretty quickly and noticed quite a few new vendors. In the building and more food and even wine vendors as well. Nice to see the changes and improvements.
I have been coming here over 40 years and always some new vendors and lots of changes.
This has to be our favourite Flea Market we enjoy
many times when in the area
lots of fresh produce
Archie's beach wear from town have
a larger setup this year
Most of the Antiques are gone
more new vendors
fresh made mini donuts
smoked meat, fresh baked goods
we did not waste much time here too chilly
You name it they have it
more produce
cool electric bikes too
This year they even have wine and Cider vendors
too early for lunch
don't think they will sell much ice cream today
Next was a quick stop at No Frills and Sobeys' Grocery stores then to Grandpa Jimies Scottish bakery. Only to find they have closed the doors and the business is for sale. Always loved their baked goods and Cornish Pasties , hmm too sad.
We also cruised down the Main Drag of Grand Bend to the beach, lots cars parked, but  nobody out walking and even a few more long standing businesses for sale. It would be hard to run a profitable business here with really only 3 months of the year with good weather at the beach.

beach pavilion
the beach is quiet in this cold weather
the lighthouse in Grand Bend
Michigan is on the other side of Lake Huron
30 miles away.
one fishing boat in the channel
Back home by 11:30 for a light tasty lunch another walkabout the park to get the 2 mile mark so far.
At 3pm got a text from Gerry and Melinda to join them for Happy hour. Ok we had no plans too cold to sit outside so over we went to join them. As soon as we came in Tucker was so excited and all over Suzie. Even before she took her jacket off. Then on The couch with his toy to play.
Doggie fix for Suzie always fun with Tucker
then he relaxes by Gerry.
Eventually time to head home and whip up supper. I was going to take Suzie out for Mother's Day but she wanted me to make Mussels for supper with a salad. sounds good to me. I am easy. These are so tasty and quick and easy. From the freezer to done about 10 minutes.
Tonight we had Mussels with Garlic
and Butter sauce yum.
into a bowl with the sauce, add a salad and fresh asparagus
oh my this was excellent
We might have some desert later, the Rhubarb crisp I made yesterday. If we have desert later in the evening. We enjoy this below while watching tv last night.
yummy Rhubarb Crisp I made yesterday
added strawberries too and ice cream
Now still overcast and cool, drizzly a bit so no sunset photos again tonight.
That was our fun Mother's Day we enjoyed , hope y'all had a wonderful one as well. Thanks for taking the time to drop on by.
Then to wish both of our Mothers a Happy Mother's Day in heaven , we miss you both.
Happy Mother's Day Ma, miss you
Happy Mother's Day to Suzie's
Mom we both miss her as well

    1. If I can sleep I will but not very often, I guess most nights I don't need it. Actually I have posted more photos but not very often I try to do less, mot days I take well over 100. I am sure those Watermelons were imported. We both miss our mothers, and this is the day the donor them more than other days.

    1. When I worked I slept when I could, always worked 2-3 jobs, so I slept quickly when I could. Now I still sleep quickly most of the time.
