Had a fun project, and a nice campfire with friends.

Where are we today ?
Last night was pretty cool about 13c (55f) great for sleeping with the windows open. Today only got to about 18c (65f) but pretty windy. Not too bad when we can be out of the wind and the sun was shining.
Walkabout the the cabin behind us the dove was perched on a BBQ and not going anywhere. Looked above in the rafters and there is a nest must have a few babies in it.
looks like Mama in the nest
I had a project to work on that kept me busy. Had a couple of those old aluminum crocheted lawn chairs that were given to us (thanks John). These chairs are not sold anymore, and are very rare. I actually found a website that still sells the frames and we can crochet our own. But at over $50.00 for each frame plus material they would be expensive. These  were free and just needed and bit of my time and use up some stuff I already had. They need some cleaning up and reinforcement. Thinking on this for a day or two I found some heavy duty aluminum that I tucked away in my spare parts place. Checked it out and made a pattern for 4 support brackets. Borrowed a jig saw with a metal blade from the shop in the resort and cut them out. Drilled some holes and pop rivet them in place. Sure makes them pretty sturdy now.
pattern for the brackets
I made 4 brackets and made the chairs very sturdy
now two more comfy chairs I will clean up tomorrow
This done and we can enjoy our books for a while in the sun, walkabouts a bit and some time in the gym here. Couple people drop by and a nice happy hour, then time to fire up our Weber Q. Have some small Mahi-Mahi fillets (Dorado in Mexico). Gonna grill them for a fish on a bun with a tasty salad for tonights supper.
On the grill and the Apple wood chips still smell wonderful
fish on a bun, homemade tater sauce and a tasty salad
Now supper done, dishes done and a bunch of our friends are having a campfire, can't not go to a campfire can we? Especially with friends we only see usually once every year or two. So bundled up cause its kinda cold out there, grab our chairs and join the crowd.
First thing Suzie gets her doggie fix
Another half dozen people showed up, after I took this picture and the conversation flowed around the fire, so nice to enjoy a campfire with friends.
love a campfire
Well a couple hours later its getting late and much colder, think its past our bed time, so wander home and warm up before calling it a night. Sure do love this lifestyle!
Thanks for coming by and joining in with our group, the more the merrier.

    1. Just a cheap fix but will help them last a bit longer.

  5. I miss those old aluminum chairs, today's folding bag chairs can't compare with them. Wish they were still sold, light weight and comfy. Good for you to restore those chairs!

  7. Nice to catch up with your adventures, George and Suzie. Our wifi for the past week in MI was not bad but I didn't get on the laptop as much as Bill so needed to catch up! You've been busy meeting up with a lot of your friends it's sounds amazing how you can meet up with them again and again. I love the campfire too!
