A beautiful warm sunny morning and the promise of a nice summer day. Shortly after 9 am we are on the road to Forest a 10 minute drive usually, but construction caused a 15 minute delay. A stop at the Copy Centre here to have some 1300 pages of genealogy printed for a few of the Stere family members on Suzie's side.

The woman said it should be ready this afternoon or Tues morning. So we checked out a few stores in town looking for some binders etc... no luck. Its still early in the morning so we took a 10 minute drive to
Ipperwash Beach on the shores of Lake Huron to avoid the construction and have a scenic drive home. Below is a couple of pictures for Contessa of the less crowded, less commercial shallow warm waters of Lake Huron.

About 11am as we were heading from the beach to home, a phone call that the copies were done, so back to Forest and pick up the finished product. Then back thru the construction to the resort and have a bite to eat, and putter around.
After lunch Rob and I decided to go to a local house in the village and pick up a large load of firewood (only $6.00), for the next few warm nights on the forecast.

Now we can relax in the shade with our books for a while, a quick happy hour then fire up the barbie to grill our pickerel filets we picked up at the fish market yesterday. Added to that I made a rice pilaf and corn on the cob for a very tasty light meal.

Just relaxing after supper for a bit and gather round a nice campfire to wind up another great summer evening.
We are so lucky to be able to enjoy this lifestyle.

A great summer day indeed. Your beach shots are very nice! Also your dinner sure looks delicious, I bet the filets and corn were good.

John and Ellen:
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by and enjoying our day with us!
was hoping while down in the keys I could pick up some fresh fish in the markets but they are very proud of their filets, so I am fishing a bit more for dinner than originally planned...
ReplyDeleteMucho gracias par tu playa fotos! Other than Ottawa I have never explored Ontario. Love the beach! How did you cook the fillets, In foil??

ReplyDeleteThere is some nice beautiful sandy beaches on the west coast on Ontario. Lake Huron with Michigan on the other side and some awesome sunsets as well, we don't camp on the coast much anymore (no membership parks). The fish fillets are grilled just on foil, skin side down, fish spice, pepper and a bit of lemon juice, a little margarine so they don't stick, open faced, so tasty that way.

ReplyDeleteHope you enjoy the fishing and the meals you have with the results!
We did fresh wild sockeye salmon fillets much the same way tonite but I used teriyaki saude to marinate in, nothing else. Thanks for the margarine tip.
ReplyDeleteOne day we will check out Ontario! At least we have the one park there.
Contessa:
ReplyDeleteThe salmon sounds yummy too. There is new ROD park in Leamington (Sturgeon Woods) And Galvin Bay Resport is CC and AOR.
