Sun. May 22nd 2011 The weather forecast is wrong

Join us as we travel North America in our
Holiday Rambler Vacationer, since August 2006

The forecast for today is rain, rain showers, overcast and thunderstorms, but I don't want to believe it. Ok it started about 6:00am with cloudy skies and very heavy rainfall for about an hour.  But shortly after that the skies began to clear and was almost nice by 10 when we had planned to head out to the Pinery Fleamarket again. As you may know we always enjoy a sunday outing here especially on the long weekend with a lot more vendors. So three car loads of us headed out, 7 of us altogether plus Maggie.  We took three cars because Mike was heading on to work from there another two hours north in Port Elgin.
parking lots getting full
Glad we got there when we did, as the parking lots were filling up, the sun was shining and it was getting mucho warmer. Lots of items , new things to see and people making it a fun time.
lotsa stuff
every kid needs one of these
nice day
If you are Canadian you will understand the meaning of this T shirt. Timmies (Tim Hortons Coffee) is a coffee shop all across Canada will loyal customers, almost a cult following, people crave this caffeine fix many times a day, and many can not resist stopping at every drive thru they see. Now for the last few years quite a few restaurants have been opening in the United States near the Canadian border.
people love their Timmies
After and hour or so we were 1/2 way around we just had to stop rest our feet and share an order of fresh cut fries. Then we carried on and I bought a new pair of sunglasses and a package of extra hot pepperettes, Suzie exchanged 10 books for seven another good deal. More browsing enjoying the sites and sounds we arrived at the food court as the end of our excursion. Shopped out we sat and enjoyed the tunes of Brian Dale, a hamburger and cold drink. Meeting up again with Mike, Trish, Greg, Mona and Maggie we compared the purchases and treasures that we had picked up.

even Maggie found a friend
nice shady spot
Ok now its almost mid afternoon the sun still shining, temps about 25c (80f) head back home to enjoy this weather at our campsite, with our books. But being such a nice day a few people stopped by to chat always fun, we can read anytime.

Now before we know it gotta fire up the barbie to grill a 1/2 of a chicken , potatoes and onions in foil and corn on the cob for supper.
we love our chicken
Supper finished and dishes done its still a wonderful evening so we wandered over to Rich and Marylou's to join there campfire swapping stories until suddenly it after 10 pm, wow and we are still awake. Its hard to fall asleep early at this time of year when it doesn't get real dark until about 10 pm.
nice fire
So the weathercast was very wrong today, it ended up being very sunny and warm all day, just the way we want it.

  1. I think I might be the only Canadian who has not been in a Tim Hortons or even had one of their coffees!

I have been there myself but personally would not go out of my way for one, like a lot of people.
