More wonderful weather, Fantastic fan, The Falls, and dart night.

Where are we today ?
Rock Glen Family Resort

Another good night sleep and up at 5:30 ready for another wonderful day. Got some coffees and computing taken care of and headed out at 7 am for a nice walkabout the campground and decided to go and check out Rock Glen Falls across the road, It was such a beautiful day. Got 2 miles in.
right across the road is the Conservation area
and Rock Glen Falls
just before the falls
It was such a perfect morning I went down
the long stair case to view the falls up close
much quieter now compared
 to the spring floods here
love the pool at the bottom of the falls
this be the nice staircase they built a few years ago
Back home  by 8 am and with all this energy I decided a perfect day to climb on the roof, remove the 3 vent covers and give them a good cleaning. I like to do once a year at least.
nice view of the Valley from the roof
Covers removed and sent down to Suzie
Next was to remove the fan blade from the Fantastic Fan.
amazing how dirty this gets in one year
remove those 4 screws and turn the fan over
3/32  t handle hex wrench does the trick
insert there loosen  screw and remove the fan blade
While up here I spent quite a while cleaning these vents and the roof around it. Making everything sparkle again.
yup its dirty. easy to clean in the kitchen sink now
3 minutes later looks like new again
scrubbed those covers , look so much better
By now it was 10:30 time to stop for a light lunch. Then I made a quick trip to Forest for a few groceries we needed. The drive was relaxing, this was my break. Then back home up on the roof again. Install fan blade and all 3 covers.
Suzie handed the clean covers back up to me (we use a strap with a hook to raise and lower them). As I installed them Suzie inside to open and close the vents to make sure no obstructions.
the covers installed much cleaner now
Supper tonight a couple of Hayters Turkey Burgers with Onion and Parsley, we really love these. Made no far from here at Hayter's Turkey farm.
a couple of these burgers for supper tonight
At 3 pm out Happy hour, Gerry, Melinda and Tucker dropped by to join us then Joe and Nellie and even Mike stopped by so the conversation just flowed and lotsa laughs we had. Nice that they did.  About 5 pm they all headed home to whip up suppers as is did, Just a couple of Turkey burgers on our Weber Q. quick and easy.
Tucker on his chair getting treat from Suzie
Gerry and Melinda
Joe coming back from the pool
Nellie right behind him
Mike joined us for a bit as well
quick and easy Turkey Burgers
that we love
this sure did the trick tonight before darts
Then at 6:30 we headed down to play Darts so no more posting tonight. Maybe we win, maybe not , but we will have fun.
These pictures I took later last night after I posted.
love seeing all the kids here having so much fun.
then  bunch of them go on the
wagon ride around the park
Then we noticed this neighbour heading out with his Powered Paraglider what a cool rig it is. Not sure where he went to fly but not far, a bit later we saw and heard him flying over the campground.
he straps the big motor to his back
and there he is looks like fun
the view would be awesome
but really not for me.
That was our fun productive day and another perfect summer day. Thanks for dropping by and hope you enjoyed yours as well.

A perfect sunny, warm fall day, and our Fantastic Fan is FANTASTIC again !

Where are we today ?
Last night was a cold one, management drove about informing everyone to shut off the water and disconnect our hoses because of the cold weather and no cloud cover overnight. We are toasty warm no problem, water in our tanks no problem and had a great nights sleep. A small electric heater overnight and Mr. Heater when we are up no problem. Ran the furnace in the morning for about 15 minutes at 5 am when I got up and all is good with a well insulated coach and dual pane windows.
lotsa frost on the car windows
not so much frost around our coach
Early  morning walkabout can see the sun burning through the morning fog and before long the sun is shinning brightly.
mini golf
A walk down by the lake, just love it, is nice and peaceful here, off season and can barely hear the traffic going across the bridge into town.

Shortly after 9am got a phone call from the office, package has been delivered by courier for us. That is the part that we had ordered for our Fantastic Fan last week.  A new speed control, looks like it has been modified from the old one. A ten minute install and now our fan works FANTASTIC! All three speeds, the part and shipping was no charge, sure do love dealing with a company that stands behind their products. Considering that out fan is 14 years old too!
new speed control
now working like new!
We could not have had a better day. Clear blue skies and very warm sunshine on our patio. Temps in the mid 60's feeling like almost 80 degrees, lovin' it, bare feet! We got to relax and enjoy our books for a while. Neighbors stopped by to chat and a new rv'er asked me to help them get their furnace running, because they had no heat last night and could not figure out how the start their furnace. There coach is a Holiday Rambler similar to ours. No problem, a few minutes showing them the settings that control their heat and AC, now is working fine for them.
enjoying our books on a perfect day
While Suzie was reading she had a friend drop by for most of the day, no doggies but a bug, "walking stick" stayed by her side for a few hours.
Suzie's new pet
After a bit soon time to fire up or Weber Q to grill a favourite of ours, a whole chicken on the Q and a couple baked potatoes. And got it done just as the sun was setting about 5:30pm.
on our Weber Q 100 about 70 minutes,
 low and slow.
nice sunset
Just added to that some Swiss Chalet sauce and cauliflower with cheese, really hit the spot.
yummy again
Noticed today that we have another new follower. Welcome aboard Wendy glad to have you along.

Fantastic Fan Amazing customer service and a cool sunny day.

Where are we today ?
Lotsa rain yesterday but no major storms here, so all is good. This morning clear skies and sunshine, loving this weather! Morning walkabouts, enjoyed the sunrise, sunshine, wonderful colors of the fall leaves, deer wandering about the campsites and the Canada Geese honking their morning departure for the southern climates.
the Canada Geese heading south
nice sunrise
a few deer here too
The other day when we pulled in it was hot and our Fantastic Fan was not working. Vent opened fine but the fan would not start, no way, no how. Hmmmm need to look into this problem.
Yesterday was rainy and cold and had other stuff to do, but this morning I gonna check things out. First of all removed the inside covers and the fan blade, then started to check things. First the fuse, its ok. Then with my tester checked other connections, we have power. Hmm looks like the resistor before the three speed switch is not working (kind of black and burnt too). So disconnected that wire and bypassed the resistor and guess what the fan works! Yippee! But the down side is now it only works on high speed, so need a new resistor.
need this tiny part
back together for now and working
Once I established the problem with our Fantastic Fan I researched and found that Fantastic Vent company had been sold to Atwood in 2010. They manufacture many RV parts. You can Click their link here.  I sent out an email out to them requesting where I could purchase the part I needed, and received this reply below about one hour later.

"George,
Thank you for contacting us. Simply provide a mailing address and we'll send a speed switch (k1030-05) at no charge.
Best regards,
Technical CSR
Fan-Tastic Vent"

About five more emails today back and forth and everything is set up, our part should bet in Grove Oklahoma next week when we arrive.
Now is that good customer service or what? Just like we have had from the Fantastic Vent Company in the past. We established a place where we will be in about a week or so, sent back the address and the part will be there when we get there. Looks like the Fantastic Fan company has not lost their impeccable customer service that they have been famous for in the past even with a new company taken over. They sure have a great product and will continue to recommend them to every one we meet.

That project taken care of next I want wash our  coach, problem no vehicle washing in this resort. But I can get around that. Yesterdays rain supplied us with lots of rain water, (supper soft water too). So with 4 pails full I made my own "Solution" that other rv'ers spend a lot of money to purchase, its a waterless washing spray. Rain water and a wet and dry cloth I can bring our coach to a brilliant shine, just by taking the dirt off a nice shinny waxed coach underneath.
MY SOLUTION
before on left and after on the right
Now by the time this was done, think it was time to enjoy our books on a sunny afternoon, only about 60f but real nice in the sun.
a nice sunny spot to read
With such a great day had to fire up our Weber Q 100 again a grill a tasty rib eye steak we picked up yesterday on sale, baked potato, mushrooms, peas, carrots and onions.
Our Weber does it all
sure was tasty!
Now how was that for a fun, productive day and pretty decent weather here on Missouri?
Thanks for stopping by and remember if you have an RV, be sure that you use your Fantastic Fan Vent and remember their customer service is still as good as ever.
