Where are we today ?

Heck I got another wonderful good nights sleep. 9 pm till midnight. then 12:30 till 3.30 Back to sleep 4:15 until 8 am. Feel pretty well rested now. 11:45 SIL Sandy came by to drive us to the London Hospital to discuss all of the test results that have been sent to them over that last few weeks.
Diagnosis was not good. Talked to the doctor about all the test results. Apparently I have liver cancer that started in the pancreas. They are going to try for a stint in my bio duct (in Stratford), through my throat, as soon as possible and if that doesn't work a stint in my side to drain it. Then a visit to the oncologist, possibly next week Back in London. Then chemo and see where that goes. I may have a year to live but we are more positive than that and hope for much longer. At this point that is all that we can do.

When we got back here in Tavistock, Rose and Ross had prepared a roast beef dinner in the slow cooker with mashed potatoes and vegetables. A very tasty meal. Thanks guys.
fall apart roast beef was excellent

whipped tatters veggies a gravy
I want to thank you all for stopping by and keep those prayers coming.

  11. I think that this is what you expected to hear, sad as it is. As others have said here, cancer can be beat. I personally know of people ( one from Ontario ) who beat stage 4 cancer. You are a thousand times more positive than he is and you have a wonderful shot at beating this. Never give up. Meanwhile live each day to the fullest and keep creating some new memories together.

As you said, what will be will be. Take one day at time, savor it, and give it your very best shot. I will remember your intentions in prayer.

I will be praying for you and Suzie for comfort, peace, and strength. You can be a hard headed man when you want to, so this is the time to be hardheaded and not give in. 30. I'm sorry to hear of the terrible diagnosis. According to doctors, most liver problems end up being cancerous. Cancer runs in my family. It's like looking at this disease square in the face even though I'm not sick. I do biofeedback on a daily basis hoping my body cells will listen and fight to keep me healthy. My niece beat breast cancer and was in remission for seven years and declared cancer free but that same year she felt her back aching so she went to doctor and had testing done. The cancer was back in her bones. Breast cancer is a beast...it travels to different parts of body including brain. She has been fighting the beast now for four years and still fighting. I'm so proud of her because she definitely looked at life and the cancer with a positive attitude. On the other hand, my sister was diagnosed with breast cancer two years ago and although undergoing chemo and radiation treatment the cancer advanced to her pelvic area then to internal organs. She passed away last spring in March. I almost think sister gave up her fight at the beginning which allowed her body not to fight. I'm old so I'm resigned at this point whether I go out of this world with some terrible disease or accidentally or by natural causes. My prayer go to you and your loved ones. Stay positive, you can beat this!

  33. So sorry to hear this George! We are all pulling for you and remission does happen! My friend in Victoria had two kinds of cancer and we just celebrated her seventh anniversary of being declared cancer free. Keep a positive attitude, eat well and live as health a lifestyle as you can. This will clear the field for your body to fight this.

  34. I agree with Croft. Here in San Miguel de Allende, a good friend suffered two bouts of cancer, different locations and types. She's been cancer free for years. You have so much support from family and friends, please take advantage of it. We all seem to pull together during uncertain times. Be peaceful.

  38. George I have been on vacation and I have been catching up on your blog since last night. This evening I came upon this post and it took the air out of me. I have been thinking so much about you both since you were hospitalized.

I know if there is someone with a positive attitude, a wonderful and supportive family it is you George. You are blessed to have been born in Canada and have one of the best medical systems in the world.

I trust in your doctors and with the supportive family that you have I know you can beat this. Lots of positive thoughts and energy being sent your way.
