Join us as we travel North America in our Holiday Rambler Vacationer, since August. 2006
Today is my Sisters' Birthday, Happy Birthday Lulu!!!
This morning we are in Santa Ana Mexico and on the road at 8:30am. A good drive towards the border. At KM 21 we turned in our vehicles permits and tourist visas. Then towards Nogales following the truck route then the signs for Cars and RV's. A fairly short line today at about 10:30am, a few questions by US customs then pull over for a vehicle inspection. We had a nice young lady come aboard and ask us questions about meat , vegetables etc... Her reply was looks like you did your homework, she looked about checked a few cupboards and the refrigerator then sent us on our way. We were in the USA at 11:00 am only 1/2 hour at the border crossing in total!! Heading north on I-19 we found a nice smooth, wide, paved highway and the speed limit 75 MPH (120 kph). Wow, we have not seen this kind of travelling for 3 months!!!! As we head north towards Tucson looking for a Walmart to stock up a few supplies. Well its lunch time and there just happens to be a Chinese Buffet next to Walmart, so our first meal takes care of a craving yummy!!! All stocked up we headed towards Picacho Peak Rv resort for 6 nights. Driving thru cold winds and rain we checked in about 3:00 pm welcomed by the Manager and a few friends in the park. We have spent one month here for the last 3 winters and made quite a few friends. All set up we headed down to the clubhouse at 5:30 to play darts with a good group of 28 people. All familiar faces and a nice welcome back. Then home and visit with Steve (from Ontario) for a while and then off to bed.
