What a Difference a Day Makes

Last week I got my Christmas directions out of storage. I slowly started decorating. The first day I was working on the front window. Being as I have a southern exposure, it was hot and bright with the sun shining. I needed my sunglasses to start. I didn't want to wait for a cloudy day.

Monday Night

Tuesday night after snow fall.

Of course, along with a snow fall and winter, I need to shovel and clean the car. I don't rush to get the snow cleared as I do not want to overdo myself.

I didn't rush to decorate. Last year these directions were at the Hospice. George and I were able to enjoy our decorations. Except for last year, the longest our decorations were up in the RV was maybe 2 weeks as we were always on the move. Now I can celebrate the Christmas season for a month.

Whenever we decorated, we always had Christmas songs playing. I don't have a CD player anymore but I found on You Tube various Christmas songs. Wonderful.

I am really enjoying Bell's service. I can program the TV to record programs, view TV shows I missed using On Demand and now also You Tube to enjoy music that is not playing on the Stingray channels. In the summer I subscribed to Netflix and really enjoy watching movies and series with no commercials.

This past Sunday afternoon, a few of us ladies sat outside and enjoyed our social time. It was sunny and everyone dressed accordingly. These social gatherings have slowed down, of course due to weather conditions.

Thanks for the comments on my last posting. Last night, I tried a recipe that George has on the blog. It was the Chicken Parmesan Alfredo. I had leftover Alfredo sauce that I had froze in small containers. It was very tasty. Of course, I adjusted the recipe for 1 as I always do. Along with the chicken, I had mashed potato and a salad. I was so full, I didn't want dessert.

I continue to live my life everyday to the fullest.

  3. It's great to know how well you're doing! I do far less Christmas decorating than when I was younger,a wee artificial tree, manger and a few pine cones and bells on my door.YouTube Christmas song videos are wonderful, nice that you enjoy them too. - Mary

  4. Remembering past Christmases with George and the places you were celebrating must be a mix of emotional feelings for you. Seeing that you made yourself a nice home and new friends shows that you are doing good. We are glad of that and like to stay in touch, if you keep on posting of the happenings in your life. Stay healthy and best wishes.

  5. Thanks for the update Suzie. Your decorations look festive. We too put up fewer decorations than in times past, but the lights, music and decorations are all part of Christmas. With covid restrictions we will miss family this year also a big part of the Holidays.

    1. Friends here gave me a bit of a hard time, as they think I over analyze the placement of the decorations. They are probably right. Yes, George would be pleased with my cooking. Merry Christmas to you and Pat.

  9. Good on you for decorating and listening to festive music. George would be pleased. You just might surprise yourself and leave it all up for an extra week or two. A great way to get thru these Covid times. We also put lights up in the window as you have. However they keep falling, how are you keeping them in place.

    1. Since we had trouble last year with the lights in the hospice, I found Command hooks. I will take a picture and email it to you. Regarding your blog, George always took a lot of pictures so he could remember what we did during the day.

  10. So good to see this. In spite of the first Christmas without someone. But you have done a fine job and it looks lovely. As a far to the south person, I am happy to see the snow. It's beautiful at a distance! No shoveling involved. Just quiet and soft.
