Overcast , rainy and visiting some of Suzie's family.

Where are we today ?
clic a pic to enlarge it
Much warmer overnight and was 62F at 6 am with an overcast day forecast. So a bit of a cloudy sunrise , then clouds for most of the day.
I made a quick trip to the thrift store in New Hamburg and donated some unneeded items, picked up a few groceries, then stopped at Pettigrews to get Dale to scan the code in the car because the service engine light came on again. I will take it in Friday morning for him to check further. Then the Home Hardware in Plattsville to exchange our oil and vinegar sprayer. It does have an unconditional guarantee so not a problem , they will order it in and be there when we are back in the area again. no charge.
Now at 11:30 we headed into the New Hamburg picked up Suzie's dad and into Kitchener to visit with her Aunt Delores and Uncle Earlus for lunch and to check out their new to them Town house condo.
Arriving just after 12 noon driving all the way in pouring rain. and started with a tour. All the while enjoying wonderful smells rafting from the kitchen. And what a beautiful home they have nice bungalow with a finish walkout basement.
front room, den maybe?
a very nice large working kitchen
dining area/ living room
a nice upper deck off the living room
looking into green space and stairs to a lower deck
a large storage room work shop in the basement
plus a nice family room and very large extra bedroom
Chatting in the kitchen as lunch is put together
lunch is served
A very tasty meal, farmers sausage, scalloped potatoes, asparagus  and caesar salad
this was excellent
they are in the kitchen getting desert ready
not sure why the 3 fingers?
oh yeah warm pecan pie and ice-cream
sure finished us off
What an excellent meal we enjoyed that so much, love their new home and a wonderful visit just with us and Suzie's Dad. Then they started talking about family history and relatives, With the genealogy book Suzie has researched and printed the last update was 2011. Covering all the Stere Family (13 children her Gramma was one of them) and relatives 173 pages per book she had printed and many books for various family members that wanted one. Also the wealth of information from her Dad and Delores the conversation never stopped.
so many stories to tell
We headed back home about 4 pm dropped her Dad at Nith View in New Hamburg, in time for him to have dinner and play Crokinole afterwards.
Then home here by 4:30 to relax in side still quite warm outside 72F but still overcast and drizzly. So will wrap up this posting for today, enjoy our page turners. No Supper needed tonight , maybe some popcorn later on .
Want to thank y'all for dropping on by and hope you had a wonderful day as well. Forecast says sunshine and warmer weather for a while now and thats good. I have more lawn to mow.

  7. What a beautiful house Suzie's Aunt & Uncle have. There are times I miss a kitchen that size - not too often though. I love hearing stories about my grandparents, great-grandparents, aunts and uncles. So much history that needs to be kept for future generations - if they have the interest?

  8. What a lovely and large condo Suzie's aunt and uncle have. I am glad Suzie documented the geneology in her family. I would have loved to have gotten to know more family stories but in my day we were not allowed to speak unless you were spoken to and no adult wanted to talk us. What I regret the most is never having a real conversation with my grandparents.

I know how Dizzy feels I too get hungry nightly after reading your posts.
