Where are we today ?

Now this is more like the weather we love, think it went from winter to summer just like that! 5 am 50F (10C) outside. A bit of ground fog early then quickly burned off with the morning sun. At 8 am took the car to Pettigrew's Garage to get an Oil change and have Dale check out the code on his device for the engine light. Did not take him long to find a broken vacuum line. Easy quick fix. That should take care of the problem and  so far it has.
Early morning mist looks almost spooky
then in a bit the sun roses and burned it off
Then a quick trip to the pharmacy in New Hamburg for a prescription renewal, Back home for a tasty lunch, left over pizza heated in the frying pan, tastes like fresh made reheating it that way.
Nice drive to New Hamburg
Now at 11:15 we headed into Woodstock to bottle a batch of wine, Suzie's favourite Green Apple Resiling from Vintner wine works owned by a good friend Dave Mercer we have known for many years. Our daughter's used to figure skate together back in the 90's and we also had a lot fun camping excursions with Dave and Liana well over 20 years ago.We  know it is hot out when we need to run the air-conditioning in the car!
This be a busy place and he serves his customers well
makes excellent wine too
a  nice light tasty wine Suzie enjoys
While we there Dave had texted Liana and she came over to visit, we have not seen her for 13 years! Wow Such a nice surprise and glad that Suzie came with me. She went down the road to get her hair trimmed while we bottled the wine, does not take long. What a fun visit and short catch up with these guys reliving some of the fun times we had years ago. And wish Liana a Happy birthday seeing as tomorrow is the day!

Soon time for us to head back home, stopped at her brothers to store 15 bottles of wine (we only have so much storage a batch is 30 bottles) then home to Camp Awesome and enjoy the rest of this amazing hot sunny day in the shade 85F (29C) the weather we really do love. Enjoying our page turners, happy hour and put some pork back ribs in sauerkraut, on our Weber Q to get tender and tasty for a couple of hours. For that recipe you can click HERE or my recipe blog top right sidebar.
back roads coming back from Suzie brothers
now  a peaceful afternoon enjoying this weather in the shade
smelling the ribs cooking in kraut
While enjoying the weather the huge tree across from us shedding Keys! So wonderful to see, they look like butterflies twirling around in the light breeze heading to the ground. Hoping to make more trees in the process.
this tree is shedding the keys,
'but could not get a picture of them twirling to the ground
hundreds of these everywhere
Then time to whip up a salad to go with supper, grill some fresh asparagus as well
ribs in the kraut
love this BBQ sauce thanks Deb for the tip
glazing the ribs and cook the asparagus just right
yup this was wonderful 3 ribs each and the rest sure hit the spot
That is about the end of this posting for a wonderful hot sunny day we both enjoyed. Dishes done. still 74F(23C) and at 7:30 pm and can now enjoy  a beautiful evening outside with our page turners listening to the mourning doves, birds chirping and occasionally see a squirrel or rabbit  run on by. This is the life we love. Maybe a sunset later on if I get a pic will post it tomorrow.
Thanks for taking the time to stop by and really hope y'all had a wonderful summer like day.

    1. We are enjoying the wonderful warm weather finally. Bottling our our own wind her makes in more cost effective. A chip bottle her in Canada is about 10 bucks. These are less than 4 bucks a bottle here to do our own, Plus we can get the wine that Suzie likes.
Meeting up with our friends from the past was a real bonus as well.
