Overcast with some drizzle, but we enjoyed every minute of it with an Eagles concert this afternoon.

Where are we today ?

A mild night last night 50 f at 5 am today felt wonderful and perfect for my early morning walkabout catching a bit of a sunrise on a cloudy looking sky. Did get a couple more walks in around the park and shortly after 9 am a few rain sprinkles but nothing to worry about. Got 2 miles in so far,  hopping for some sunshine today maybe, but does not look promising.
a nice sunrise on my first walkabout
Soon time for a tasty lunch. Today a ham, onion, mushroom and cheese omelette. Just because I could and we had some ham in our freezer from earlier this winter.
 very tasty omellettei
Suzie got her new 2 pair or Sketcher shoes delivered yesterday  an great deal 2 pair for less than one pair back home in Ontario . An she loves them, sure worth the money when you can find good shoes for a great price.
exactly what she wanted
so comfy
Now after lunch a short cruise around the desert behind here to see if I can find anything new and exciting. Won't find anything unless I look. Drive down the dirt road to the All-American irrigation canal. Can see the fence at the Mexican border on the other side. Looks like it has been made taller than the last time I was by here. Still overcast and a cooler breeze at 58F. Not really a nice outside day to enjoy. But as I have said before still much better than back home. This appears Arizonas' turn to have a cooler winter, Other years it could be Texas or Florida. No matter we still love it here.
love cruising these dirt roads
the fence to Mexico across the Canal
Not a nice outside day with the clouds and wind, a few sprinkles off and on. So this was a great day to enjoy a couple of CD's loaned to us from some very good friends. The Eagles Farewell 1Tour from Melbourne. Non stop music and live for over 3 hours. Wow what a way to enjoy the music of this amazing band. 30 of their hit songs that both Suzie and I are very familiar with. Had us boogying all afternoon long ! Thanks Guys for the loan.
what an awesome concert
Shortly after 2 Pm I fired up ur Weber Q to cook some Pork Ribs on our Q in sauerkraut for a couple of hours, then glazed on the grill mat with some tasty BBQ sauce . For that recipe you can click HERE or my recipe blog top right sidebar . I got these ribs on sale the other Day at Albertsons' and what a deal $5.91 for a full rack enough for 2 hearty meals.
a good deal I could not turn down
this weather most of the day
ribs ready for the Q
another Bourbon BBQ sauce we enjoyed
While the ribs were  on the Weber I got to enjoy some reading outside under the tree here and away from the rain sprinkles.
Soon the ribs were almost done onto the grill mat to glaze, just because I can.
oh they are about ready, fall off the bone tender
and so tasty
added to our salad and sauerkraut
we enjoyed  a wonderful rib meal
That was our perfect winter day here in the desert. A quiet Happy hour just the 2 of us, but that is just fine, not great weather to socialize outside anyway.
Even no visible sunset to enjoy either. But still nice and mild winter weather. We will enjoy this so much nicer than back home. Soon will be much warmer, according to the weather gods
Want thank y'all for dropping by for a visit and hope you had a great day as well.

  1. Love the Eagles. I'll bet the concert was fantastic. We too had ugly weather all day, but no sitting outside here, too cold and wet. Glad you enjoyed your day and soon it will be warm and we can slip back into shorts and enjoy the sunshine.

  2. You made the best out of a not so great weather day with comfort food and good music. If we didn't have these cooler days then the nice ones wouldn't mean as much to us because we wouldn't notice.

  4. Concert recordings get more energy and must be made in one take, unlike the studio recordings. We were hammered with hail this afternoon - at the beach! Hope that's the end of this mess! Dinner looks great.

  7. What a perfect day, new shoes, an Eagles Concert and Ribs for supper. Who cares about the weather after all that. I remember attending their concert at the Rideau Carleton Race track back in 1978.(I had to google the date).

    1. Yes the Eagles were and still are an awesome band, Love the ribs you could do them in your insta pot quickly then glaze on the grill with a BBQ sauce. That Bourbon sauce is hard to find have found this one plus another brand as well.

  10. It was a good day in that the rain wasn't heavy so you could step outside (with a dog if necessary) and not get soaked. It was mild too.
We love the Eagles music too, I sing along to all their tunes as well.
I'm assuming those Minnie Pearl labels have come off now, Suzie? :) I know you love your comfy shoes.
