Adjusting our plans again, think it is time to head east a bit.

Where are we today ?
clic a pic to enlarge it
Much colder last night was 34F at 5 am and in no time we were toasty warm after turning on our Blue Flame heater. Got some breaky and coffees consumed, started making a broth from the chicken we enjoyed last night.  Then a nice country drive until it warms up then go for a walkabout here in the desert.
another wonderful desert sunrise
Cruised about town for a bit probably my last one early morning this year.
love the palm trees  all over Borrego Springs
Back home finished prepping the soup and let it simmer for an hour. While this was going on I took a nice long walk out infront of us on a sunny warm day through the desert, perfect morning  for it.
Then headed back to home dirt, to have lunch with Suzie.
we back there a few rigs around
love these desert views
some tiny art work by a hiker
a nice walking trail
nothing like a good tasty homemade chicken soup
Had to go back into town this afternoon, pick up some oranges and fill our 5 gallon water jug, the Frugal Coyote was open, (thrift store) Thought of Kelly from the Bayfield bunch so I went in to check it out a huge store it is but came out empty handed nothing there for me today.
Back home to relax with our e-readers outside another perfect winter day 72 F sunny and only a very slight breeze. Relaxing in the shade, Suzie in full shade, so she can read her I-pad, my Kobo performs perfect in direct sun, so no shorts for her.
I took a break to stow our Weber Q , check tire pressures, oil and back to my book again before our Happy Hour. We decided over our morning coffees to head out in the morning, supposed to be a good travel day. We have that hitch itch again. We were going to leave Friday, but with heavy rains predicted here on Thursday, and then Friday is the beginning of Presidents Day weekend thought best to leave earlier and avoid the rains and traffic. This is where we begin our trip back to Ontario once we leave here. Only 56 days to get there and we don't like to rush. Nice that we can do this having made no reservations we are free to travel when we like. Called a membership campground this morning and we can go in tomorrow. If not we can always go someplace else, not a problem for us this is what we enjoy about the southwest, so many options.
this desert sure is turning green almost like a lawn
even the hills behind us are getting green
After our Happy hour was time to whip up supper. Tonight going to make (inside) a couple of pork schnitzel, so quick easy and tasty treat we both love.
Boneless pork chop tenderized
Dipped in egg. then in flour with with spices then cover in Panko   bread crumbs I Sautéed some onions and mushrooms and set aside then pan fried these for a few minutes until golden brown, turned over put the mushrooms and onions on top and shredded cheddar cheese. Lid on the pan for a few more minutes until the cheese melted.

smells so good
added to our salad we enjoyed a very tasty supper
No visible sunset tonight and that is just fine we leaving in the morning anyway, to make tracks eastbound.
that was it for our sunset tonight
Just another perfect desert day here no complaints at all, But think we should get outta here while the getting is good. beat the crowds, rain and traffic.
Thanks for joining us today really appreciate you dropping on by to see what we are up to. Nothing too exciting just enjoying this wonderful lifestyle that we enjoy.

  2. We love our blue flame heater that we bought in Quartzsite 2 years ago. Our flame was going wonky and Bill told us what to do to get it perfect again. Safe travels going east. I am sure your destination is not too far away!

    1. They are a wonderful heater , just need to keep the burner clean and should work for ever. Just moving right along not too far yet want to stay in the southwest longer yet.

  3. I but a Blue Flame in the San Felipe beach house more than a decade ago, still working great - on Mexican propane, which is our butane. These things just need a cleaning/dusting once every few years. If you do not need the facilities of Salton City ... cross the Texas Dip down to SR78, much better roads and the Discovery Center at the Ocotillo Wells Ranger Station has no Iron Ranger!
    Safe travels in the morning!

    1. Love the Blue Flame heater really does a wonderful job keeping us comfy.
I am still debating which way to go have driven both roads and SR78 is a much better road. But a longer drive. I guess we will see which way the coach wants to take us.

  7. The weather really is going to turn nasty and cold. Hope you can find a refuge from it. We loved our blue flame when we used to travel in the winter. Now we stay put and love our fireplace.
