A soup kinda day, and a new inverter install thanks to a tip from Croft.

Where are we today ?
clic a pic to enlarge it

Cooler and a bit of rain off and on today. A good day to make a pot of soup. So with the left over turkey bones from last Saturday night I set them on to boil and make a tasty broth. While this was happening I went to Forest for a few supplies, in particular to pick up a new 1000 watt pure sine wave inverter that Canadian Tire had on sale. $80.00 off only $239.00. Our other one is a 1200 watt modified sine wave and has served up wonderfully for 12 years.
this be the new inverter with a 2 year warranty
awesome deal!
BUT. when Croft mentioned his inverter died and got this one at Canadian Tire in BC. it got me thinking. Ours was giving us some issues last winter, occasionally it would shut off for apparently no reason. And we would have to wait a while and reset it. We had thought about replacing it this past spring and totally forgot. Thanks for the reminder Croft. besides we had more than enough Canadian Tire money to buy it here (we like free!). If we need to replace it in the states we would have to spend money.  So I got the new one and installed it in no time. It took more time to empty that compartment and put stuff back than the install. The only thing left is to install the remote switch as the remote for the other one does not work on this new unit. A small project for another day.
Back from shopping I finished up the turkey barely soup with lotsa veggies we wanted to use up and shared some with Gerry and Melinda. They bought the turkey for the dart club banquet and I cooked it, and they do enjoy my homemade soups.
a nice large pot of tasty soup,
perfect day for it
yup love my soup
After lunch while doing the inverter install Paul dropped by to chat for a bit then when that was done I got to enjoy my e-reader for a while before whipping up a salad for tonight's supper to go with a grilled chicken breast on our Weber Q 100.
The old inverter still was working so will keep it as a spare, just in case so we are not stranded. The new one has 2 cooling fans that should help to keep it running much better.
Old one on the left , new one on the right
fit right in the same spot
and so far works perfectly.
now to relax in the shade enjoying our e-readdrs
with my sweetie
2 large bone in chicken breasts smelling
wonderful out here while reading
this sure hit the spot and of course some left over chicken
for lunches
I noticed we were having a nice early sunset
then the clouds began to show some colour too
a nice ending to a perfect day
We did have a wonderful day , so peaceful here almost like we are totally isolated. Love it when the campgrounds are like this.
Still enjoying a nice mild evening outside, not a sound anywhere. Gonna wrap up this posting and read a bit then head inside by 9 pm.
Thanks for dropping by again and hope y'all had a wonderful day as well.

  1. Nice to be certain that your Inverter will not fail when you need it most. Pure Sine way is also better on the Electronics (For us medical equipment).
    Both meals looked Tasty.
    Be Safe and Enjoy!

    It's about time.

  3. So many folks we know have stopped the migration south. It's good to see you're still enjoying the winter sunshine. Maybe we'll get to see you this year. Be safe.

    1. That's for sure, we all love free. The soup was tasty and I made a huge pot enough to share. After all they left me keep the bones.

  5. I am happy the inverter changeout went well. Mine wotks perfectly except is much noisier than the old Cobra brand. I may have to relocate it or add some sound deadening material under the dinette bench where it is installed.

    1. The exchange was every easy. the remote I did today took longer but I have it done. We will not hear the fan in the outside compartment so is a non issue for us.
