Wow, what a wonderful warm fall day, only 2 more sleeps.

Where are we today
clic on a pic to enlarge it
We having another Indian summer, at 5 am was 68f! Very warm overnight windows open it was wonderful. Started off this morning with my 7:30 walkabout town in shorts and was wonderful. Today is a shorts a t-shirt kinda day again. Temps to 75F but with the humidex feels like about 86f. A perfect outdoor day for us.
morning walkabout enjoying
 the fall colours
Then about 9 am I whipped into New Hamburg to pick up our winter supply of prescriptions. Now we are set to hit the road. On my way there a bunch of wild turkeys ran across the road in front of me, about a dozen, but by the time I got my camera out there was just the last 2 heading into the bush on the left.
2 wild turkeys ahead
Home by 10 am and such a wonderful day I hopped on the mowed and cut the grass around our rig before lunch time.
this Ferris Mower does an awesome job
so much fun to ride
Stopped to whip up lunch and gonna use up some left over steak and potatoes from my son's on Sunday, and eat up the last 4 eggs we have. What an awesome lunch for using leftovers, (steak and eggs) with fried potatoes and mushrooms.
love this grill mat on our Weber Q
does a wonderful job
have not had steak and eggs for years
was wonderful
Then back on the mower for another hour or so, just to finish up all the lawn that needs to be cut. This is my last mowing now for this year, can put my ear plugs away until next spring.
sun came out later and was wonderful
enjoying our e-readers
Then for supper using up some more leftovers in a stir fry, spaghetti squash, roast pork, onions, mushrooms, tomato, carrots, broccoli and added a bit of rice as well. Made up the rest of our salad fixings and we had a wonderful tasty meal.
sure was tasty
Then we enjoyed more outside reading until the rain began at 6:45. Time head inside, getting dark and our awning is not open. But we sure had a wonderful outside day with amazing fall weather, nothing to sneezed about.
Glad that y'all dropped by and hope your fall weather was as good as ours.

  1. Wish we had some of that nice weather you've been getting. I'm thinking we'll need to get much farther south first.

    1. We are pretty lucky this year, no complaints here. I know we will get some colder weather before we hit the warm south west but could be a lot worse.

  2. Steak, eggs and potatoes for lunch. That's living the high life for sure.

  3. We had a wonderful day as well, although kind of a lazy one here. I was out and did a load of sheets because of company coming on Friday for overnight. Wanted to get flannels on before we leave. Funny watching them blow on my clothesline, the wind was the strongest I've seen it in a long time. The sudden rain gave us cause to run and bring them in only to put them back out when the sun peeped through. Our freezer is looking pretty bare right now.

    1. It was a wonderful day, but windy here as well. We have a few things that are allowed in the freezer. Other than that ready to hit the road.

  5. I know you like that mower, but I don't think they'd appreciate it if you took it with you for the winter... :cD

  7. Are you permitted to take eggs into the USA these days? The last time we left Maine, into New Brunswick we had to pitch our potatoes... not allowed to take them into Canada. We had to laugh... this time we flew into Mexico... they asked if we brought any food, fruit, nuts, meat etc. We had 2 tiny Mars bars the airlines had given us for a snack enroute... Personally, I thought about saying we were bringing drugs into the country, but we quickly ate them instead.

    1. Not sure about eggs, sometime they take them, so we just use them up. Most fruit and veggies no so we don't bother, can buy it all there. some meats are ok. If they take if fine if not we good to go, we always tell them what we have.
