Making good time with great weather and driving conditions, in Iowa tonight.

Where are we today
clic on a pic to enlarge it
What a wonderful sleep we had last night. So quiet here and a very cool night, great for sleeping. Up at 5 am and was 48f inside (34f outside) so just fired up our Mr Heater and furnace for a few minutes. Temp to about 70f in 15 minutes, shut down the furnace and Mr Heater sips at the propane and maintains the temperature very nicely.
After coffees and computing, the sun came up and enjoyed a few walkabouts checking out at the trucks here.
Then when Suzie ready we hopped on the road about 8 am through Toledo OH, past Elkhart and Goshen Indiana (been there before) slipped around Chicago (no slow downs). And was such a great travel day. No wind, no rain, no snow, very little traffic, plus we gained an hour heading into the central time zone, We ended clocking on 406  miles today, Nothing we need to see in this area right now (have seen a lot of it years ago) and heading further west on a more northern than usual route late in the season, we will keep going until we hit lower elevations and or further south.
very little traffic all day long
a wonderful drive
the blue road was ours
Indiana, that's obvious
Saw quite a few of these triple trailers below all day long and not just UPS ones either, that is a long train.
triple towing here
this is the most northern we have seen
the Mississippistill mighty here,
have seen it right at the coast too
the mighty Mississippi
then into Iowa, sorry not a great pic
Got to the Flying J, In Davenport Iowa, fuelled up our coach only $2.00 a gallon with our Good Sam card discount. Not as good as Ohio but still not too bad at all.
our spot for the night
still good gas prices
All settled here, a nice walkabout, happy hour with Suzie, and whip up supper. Tonight our Chicken Pot pie. Quick and easy, great for a couple meals on the road, for the recipe, click HERE or my recipe blog top right side bar.
almost ready for the oven
always turns out wonderful
added a small salad and sure hit the spot
left overs for tomorrow too
After a nice tasy meal and walkabouts here. We can read for a bit and post the this blog, Then the tube for a bit and call it a night. More road tip tomorrow enjoying some new scenery, love this lifestyle!
Thanks for stopping by and joining our journey.

  4. Things seem to be working our perfectly for you two. I am surprised at the fuel prices. Diesel when we headed North this past April was around 2.19. Wasn't expecting such a hike as we head South Saturday.

    1. Every State has different prices, fuel is still a lot less expensive here than in Canada.
