Good Friday in Canada.

Thanks for joining us on our journey of North America
in our Holiday Rambler, since August 2006

Where are we today ?

Now back in Ontario and just taking it easy while we can. Today is Good Friday, a holiday here in Canada, a religious and statutory holiday. If you are not familiar with it you can read about it HERE. But we have a few things to do today.

The standard early morning coffees, and even her brother stops by on his way to the barn shortly after 6 am for his first coffee fix of the day and a chat a bit, before taking care of the girls.
love the view out our front window

By about 9 am Suzie and Sandy are getting ready to head into town, and set up her mom and dads place for Easter sunday, gonna be a whole mess of family there.

I took advantage of this fact to take a short drive to Waterloo and have a coffee with Ma. Have not seen her since last fall. So nice to see her again and she is looking awesome for 80 something! She made us a coffee and cookies, chit chat for a while getting caught up. So lucky to be able to still visit with her in her own house. Then I made a few minor adjustments to her computer so things are just right then headed back to the farm.

Sun is shining and a few things here that I can putter around with. I like puttering around! The lawn mower needs some maintenance and something I enjoy. Installed a new front wheel, removed the front swivels that need to be freed up, cleaned and greased them. Took a  few hours of fun. I will do more another day.

Then into the house to see what's happening. Suzie and Sandy on the south patio enjoying the sun and chatting a bit. Then Sandy made a few very tasty muffins, while I peeled a huge pot of potatoes for tomorrow.
nice view from the south patio
Now Suzie even got to hang out with Omer for a while too. He needs a good brushing but some warmer weather would make it much more fun.

Now time for me to do my stuff, (gotta do something useful around here to pay the rent). So the choice for tonight's supper was some salmon fillets in a dill sauce, steamed rice, mixed veggies and a tossed salad.  We ended up with a pretty tasty light meal.
not too bad
Now all is done everybody happy, dishes in the dishwasher and now we can go home put up our feet and relax for a bit. Not sure where the whole day went, but we did have a great one.

A few people have asked if I will keep up the Blog and the answer is yes. We are still fulltime and we keep moving about all summer, usually visiting family and friends. And posting the Blog everyday has actually become part of my life over the last  six years. I mean, yes I actually enjoy doing this stuff, even if its not especially exciting. Its also like a diary to ourselves as well.

        Thanks for joining us!

  1. It's great that you're getting a chance in the summers to visit with family. That makes for a perfect reason to be a fulltimer. You can still be close to family much of the year and yet have nice weather all winter long just a little farther south. Enjoy.

  2. Finally a shot of Omer...I was getting a bit concerned. Love watching you interact with your family and friends over the summer.
