May. 29th 2011 Sunny Sunday

Join us as we travel North America in our
Holiday Rambler Vacationer, since August 2006

Sunday morning starts with a warm sunny sunrise with the forecast calling for rain. But the weatherperson was wrong. We had clouds for a while then the skies cleared and dried things up.
Shorts and t shirt weather and I love it. The temperatures reached 26c with a humidex of 34c (92f) and the grass was drying pretty good. I got the lawn tractor out and cleaned it up with the pressure washer and got to work cutting the grass.

All went well for the first 2 hours until I finally got it stuck beside the milk house. Dennis got the truck and long rope, pulled me out. Then I cleaned it up again and put it away waiting for the ground to dry up before attempting any more. Didn't have my camera with me to take a picture.

Check out this huge lilac bush in full bloom outside the front porch.

In the meantime Suzie, Sandy and Omer were cleaning up a garden in the corner of the yard. A few old overgrown shrubs needed to be removed, so they got the small loader tractor and worked on the removal process.

A stubborn shrub it was but finally all the pieces were removed revealing a few large boulders. Soon with the wheelbarrow, mulch and some plants they worked on it really cleaning things up. Now for everything to grow a bit and fill it in. Dennis came by and asked why we were sitting there with a beverage looking at the rocks. A "Rock Concert" I replied so he joined us for a while.

While they did this I watched, (told to take care of my back) took a few pictures, then went in to prepare tonight's supper, a feast of brown rice pasta, with a vegetable, meat sauce, tossed salad and a fresh roll.

Then relax on the porch for while before calling it a night.

  1. Rock concert, eh! Love it. Actually what a huge difference in the 'rock' garden. Great job!

The Rock concert was quiet but enjoyable. And more plants are in the works.
