Another hot sunny day, was perfect, finished mowing the lawn, visit grandson and enjoy the rest of this day in the shade

Where are we today ?
clic a pic to enlarge it
Another warm night for sleeping but comfortable enough with the windows open and fantastic fan doing it's job. As usual up early and no rain so got a few miles walked about town this morning and stopped by Pettigrew's Garage to chat wth the guys for a bit.
so peaceful walking down River Road back home
spotted this Huge Thistle had to be 7 feet tall
I will keep my distance for sure.
Then to relax in the shade for a bit and started a new book again David Baldaci (The Guilty) another one of these page turners that we love.
enjoying the view before I mow the lawn
Another great book
After a light tasty lunch I hopped on the mower to finish the yard, and done in about 80 minutes. Sure looks much better now. Was going to wait for another day or 2 but with the  forecasts I prefer to cut the grass when it is hot and dry rather than cooler and rainy.
always enjoy mowing the lawn here
The lawn looks much better now to relax
and read for a while on the shade
Had sent a text to daughter number 2 to see if our grandson, number 4 was home, we had a birthday card for him, his Birthday is on Monday turning 11 years old already. So we dropped by for a nice visit chatted for a bit gave him his card and back home again. She is very busy there with day care during the day lotsa kids around having fun.
We won't be here and neither will he for his birthday. He is going to a camp on Sunday for a week and I just know he will have a fun time, His camp will be about 20 minutes from where we will be next week so hopefully we can drop on by and check him out.
Back home to enjoy the shade and another refreshing dip in the pool was perfect. Read a bit more , whipped up a salad, and put a couple of Pasties on a trivet with foil on our Weber Q 100 to heat up for about 20 minutes. When they just about done a made a bit of gravy for them and we enjoyed a very tasty meal.
nicely warmed up
these pasties are a treat
a little gravy is even nicer
After supper back outside enjoying this weather again almost a carbon copy of yesterday, sunny , quite warm and humid  but a light breezy was nice and of course the dip in the pool even nicer.
Gonna wrap this posting up and enjoy the rest of the night right here in the shade enjoying our books for a while, To early and too nice to go inside.
Thanks for taking the time to stop by and really hope y'all had a great day as well.

  1. Hi Suzie and George, Always enjoy your pictures when you are parked in this place it looks so quiet and peaceful. Sounds like you have been experiencing the same kind of weather we have been having. Not complaining though we need the rain and now that the nights are cooling down the warm days are nice. Okay one little complaint we could skip the humidity...:)
Used your pork rib recipe tonight and as always they were delicious.

    1. I do enjoy mowing the lawn pays the rent. When we are not here not much gets mowed, maybe 1/2 acre around the house John might do it or maybe his son.
