A bit cooler, , New Hearing aides (yahoo!) lab work and lawn mowing

Where are we today ?
clic a pic to enlarge it
A nice comfortable nights sleep, windows open and the fantastic fan running  brings a nice cool breeze across our bed.
My usual up early about 4 am getting things done, coffees, computing etc... And a nice walkabout around town at 6:30 am, amazing how many people are out at that time of, day enjoying the fresh cool morning air.
wonderful sunrise here shortly after 5 am
Then walking down river road and around town for a bit. Back home and hopped in the car, Quick stop at Pettigrews garage to check our Lottery ticket , yahoo! we won 5 bucks. So I reinvested $4.00 of this in the next draw and came home with a dollar in my pocket.
love walking down river road here through the bush
and the river just down the other way.
That done I headed to New Hamburg to pick up my new hearing aides.  (8 o'clock appointment) WSIB pays for new ones every 5 years and this is the year. Newer technology with Blue Tooth, hook up wirelessly to my I-phone AND to our TV. Suzie is happy with that now I can listen to the TV and not bother her even when she is sleeping., early morning, AND she can set the volume level to what she likes, (not so loud).
After here around the corner to the Lab to feed the Vampires with copious  amounts of blood. Not sure why so much , maybe they hungry I know some will go to the lab for tests. Picked up 5 gallons of gas for the mower so I could get some mowing done today .
Had an early lunch and hopped on the mower  about 11:30 before it gets too hot . 90 minutes later I called it quits for the day. Don't want to do too much in the hot weather, even though cooler than it has been. only 90F and the humidex 98F.
the weeds are growing well
such a beautiful day cloudless blue skies
Once that was done first thing I did was hop in the pool to cool down for a while, Oh yeah feels so good.
so refreshing at 84F
Then joined Suzie under our awning reading with our sunscreen up and a very nice light breeze, this was wonderful. Love reading outside in the shade on a hot summer day with a light breeze, nothing much better than that for us.
our sunscreen keeps the morning sun away
and lets the breeze come through
nice Tiger Lily's in the garden
Shortly after 3:30p I preheated our Weber Q 100 and prepped a nice whole chicken (3.5lbs). We love chickens by very expensive here compared to the states. This was on sale for $2:88 a lb. about 80 minutes later was done to perfection.
crispy on the outside tender a juicy inside
we will get a lot of mileage out of this
added to our salad sure was wonderful
and of course lots of leftovers
for lunches and soup
Now dishes done,  and back outside , finish this posting and right back into our E-readers. Hard to put these good books down.
Still quite warm but that is just fine, a bit less humid and a slight breeze, makes for a wonderful productive summer day.
      Thanks for joining us today.
In closing I would like to wish all our American friends a Happy Independence day for the 4th of July tomorrow.

  1. Thanks for thinking of us folks south of the border - July 4th 1776 the Declaration of Independence was signed. And congrats on your big winnings! That's a dollar more than you had ...

  4. I'm surprised how many people are out and about when I walk at 5:30 ... it must be the urge to get out before it gets to hot.

  10. Congrats on the new hearing aides. Now you can hear all those little noises you RV makes while going down the road making you paranoid. I hear very well, so I just keep the radio up high so I don't hear those noises... :cD
