Another wonderful desert day enjoying this weather and scenery that we are here for

Where are we today ?
clic a pic to enlarge it
Heck this is another wonderful day here, so quiet, no noise, no dust, warm sunny days, cool nights for sleeping, clear blue skies and amazing sunrises and sunsets. Starting with this wonderful sunrise today.
looking west with the sunrise on those mountains
After a short walkabout and drive into town to dispose of our garbage we discussed our travel plans this morning and our 2 months left this winter, And these are once again written in chalk and can be changed at a drop of a hat.
We had thought about going to the Yuma proving Grounds Open house today for their 75th anniversary, But seeing as it an hours drive each way, and the expected crowds we decided, too far and the large crowds are not for us. As much as we wanted to go we both decided, maybe not.
After a light lunch I took a drive down the road, stopped at Silly Al's to pick up a t-shirt for a friend, ran into Ken and Shirley there, and chatted for a bit then stopped in once again beside Loves to check out all these older cars that are for sale. About the same every year for the last 10 or so. Older cars not in very good shape and the prices are hard to swallow, most are in around $20,000.00 plus. No wonder they are still there. really, does he do any business at all?
only $18.000.00
this is nice but not near show quality, $30,000.00
this one cheap only $14,000.00
looks cool but not in great shape
Now to relax in the afternoon shade under our awning with the sunscreen. Only 78F but need to be out of this very intense sun. Too cool and windy on the other side in the shade and too hot in the sun. More tough decisions, lol..
Use these hooks for our sunshade
works great Suzie can
put it up and take it down herself
blocks the sun and can still see through it
our nearest neighbor
no one in sight right off our patio
After a couple of quiet hours enjoying our e-readers we decided today was the was day to have another Silly Al's Pizza. Probably our last one this winter. Decided on a takeout, so gave them a call and ordered our favourite, medium meat lover's with mushroom. Ready n 20 minutes.
they do make amazing pizza
Now back home and I added tomatoes on the whole pizza and olives on my half.
this was excellent as usual and still 4 pieces left over
After supper we did manage to get a bit of a sunset, with some color, not great but better than no exciting sunset tonight.
this is a picture I took yesterday of the Good Year blimp
flying over head and forgot to post
Just another great desert day here enjoying homedirt for now,
Nice to have you stop by and check us out, hope you had a great day as well.

  1. I would guess he doesn't really *want* to sell those cars. Maybe if someone happens in and doesn't care about market value or know any better.

  2. I would agree with Bill, maybe doesn't really want to sell them but for the right price he'll part with one.
    The pizza looked fantastic.
Always nice to relax and get in some good reading time. I agree with the 'too cool in the shade, too hot in the sun' statement. We're finding the same thing, and I'm going to have to look into a sun shade when we head down to Yuma.
Glad you and Suzie had such a fantastic day!!! Enjoy Dome Rock.

In Yuma at the Arizona MarketPlace you will find Shade Pro with some very nice sunshades easy to use on your electric awning.

  3. I'd never heard of the proving grounds so read about it - sounds like a big deal for the military.

    1. The Proving grounds is a real large area between here and Yuma, this anniversary would have been a real big deal.

  4. Ken said thanks for the pictures on the slides and shade. We'll stop by the RV vendor and see what they've got after the climb. We saw them taking in port potties and there were tons! They were obviously expecting a huge turnout! Love Silly Al's! Looking forward to seeing you tomorrow!

    1. You are so right on both counts, love their pizza and when the large crowds are gone from the area.

  6. Good choice on not going to the YPG yesterday if you don't like the crowds. We turned off the 95 at a quarter to 10 and did not enter until 11:30. It was a parking lot all the way down the road. Interesting seeing all the machines.

    1. We bought this shade at K&B input 4 years ago 6 X 9 ft about 20 bucks then the hooks and slide ins for about another 10 bucks works perfect on our manual awning, because it is so low to the ground.

    1. Making pizza is always good but with Sill Al's right here just had to do it.
This sunshade works easier for us than the large one we had. And really does the trick.

  10. Enjoy the sun, while you enjoy your sun-shade. Not a better pizza around then Silly Al's ... but then he is about the only one around :) Let us know where you decide to stop next.

    1. We are enjoy the warming sun in the shade. When silly Al's is here no need for another pizza place, it would be very difficult to do better than them. The plan right now ins north a but for membership park but never know until we get there.

  11. May have to invest in one of those shade. Looks easy to install and do the job.

I guess everyone has cleared out of Q and a great place to just enjoy now.
