Very warm windy day, lunch with family, visit rv friends, and ran into some blog followers.

Where are we today ?
clic a pic to enlarge it
Up again nice and early after a great nights sleep, very mild out this morning 68F (20C) gotta love it. But going to be a windy day. Winds are 28 mph (45 kph) with stronger gusts.and overcast skies, but hey its warm!
About 6 am I put a pork roast in our slow cooker to take over to my son's for lunch today, they only live 20 minutes away in Hamilton. Nice to use up some of the food from our freezer. Most of what is there we should be able to take across the border, if not, we don't worry about it.
Got a few nice walkabouts here and was stopped by a couple that called out my name. Hi George Yates! Hmm. Ok someone we have met. Bonnie and Rick that we met here quite a few years ago when we camped with our friends Larry and Marilyn Vanstone (Larry sold us this coach in 2006, we followed them to Mazatlan Mexico and camped with them a few times over the years) Bonnie has been following our blog ever since. Such a small world and nice to catch up with them again.
interesting sunrise today
the sun in the trees, not a lot of color
nice trail around this pond
After my walkabouts we headed over to my Son's place only 20 minutes away, Took our pork roast along already cooked in the slow cooker. Visited with him and Grand daughter #2 for a bit while Jane prepped some mashed cauliflower and garlic, roasted sweet potatoes and made some gravy from the drippings in the slow cooker.
Suzie and I had a ball with her, so busy and always on the move only as a, soon to be 2 year old can be.
gonna read Grandad a story
can only sit still for a few seconds
Then I figured it out, she would climb the chair beside the couch, over the arm on my lap and slide to the floor,
Granddad is a human slide
Then she spotted my watch and thought maybe it would look good on her, She loved my watch but as happens she lost interest in it a few minutes later and I finally did get it back.
What do you think?
looks nice?
can I keep it?
resting with daddy
Now time for dinner, Jane just took care of it as she likes to do, so I just stay out of her way.
this sure did the trick for a nice Sunday dinner at noon, loved the sweet potato
and cauliflower so very tasty
this pork loin roast was melt in your mouth
what a wonderful visit again with my son and his family
thanks guys!
After a very tasty lunch we headed around to corner to visit our good friends John and Wendy, who we have camped with many times over the years. So nice to see them again! And what a wonderful visit we had. Think it's been a year since we last saw them. The weather here was brutal, 28 mph (45kph)winds with gusts to 50 mph (90KPH). And while we were there the heavy rains came with the wind, sideways rains only for a few minutes then the rain stopped and wind gusts died down a bit. What a fun visit and so nice to see them again when we are in the area.
We got back home before 5 pm and found our patio mat and 2 step mats had blown away, but not too far, managed to retrieve then and now secured. Also found we had lost out satellite signal for the tv, the wind spun the dish around slightly,  just needed a minor adjustment then all was good again.
Now to relax reading for a while and posting this blog as a few more very strong wind gusts attacked our coach directly on the passenger side, almost like a ship at sea even with out levelling jacks fully supporting the coach we rocking back and forth. . Sure glad we were not driving it anywhere today, as a matter of fact we would have just parked it somewhere until the winds went away.
Another fun day visiting with friends and family, some of them still have to work so the weekend is the only time to visit.
Thanks for stopping on by. And hope your winds today were not as brutal as ours were. Only 3 more days here then we can cross the border into New York and then we are officially on our way to the southwest. After visiting with a few more friends.

  6. Those winds moved our car shelter quite a bit while we were gone but they just slide back into place and can't go too far. Your Gdaughter is adorable, glad you had fun with her before you leave.
Soon the countdown will switch the other way, not even worth thinking about that!
    Safe travels!
