Car fire that we saw this morning, relocating a bit further west, hooking up with rv friends.

Where are we today?
clic a pic enlarge it

Another overcast day but not windy and 70f , yup we can handle that. Up early and a few walkabouts, putter around for a while taking our time to secure the coach to travel. No need to hurry We are on Arizona time and going to California.
While packing up Melinda noticed black smoke just down the road. Which we later learned was a car (Suzuki Tracker is what the remains looked like) probably towed behind a motorhome, on the off ramp.  A few explosions flames and more smoke.  No ambulance just Police and a fire truck so luckily no-one was injured.
we spotted this from our campground
that is all that was left
Eventually we pulled out about 10:30, but only 40 miles to go to the LTVA Hotsprings near Holtville California. We actually arrived there at 10:15 California time 15 minutes before we left. Now really gotta love these travel days.
driving by the Imperial Sand dunes
with the canal right beside it
this the place
We pulled in with Gerry, Melinda and Tucker chasing us on down the road. Found our usual  spot near 5 Other couples we have met years ago. 3 From Northern Ontario, one from Washington and British Columbia Canada, another New York and another from Colorado I think. Even met up with Mike and Dee from Ontario that we saw last week at Pilot Knob.
Suzie was greeted by Cody from New York.
Set up our Weber Q, Satellite dish and tilted our solar panel. We ready to enjoy this area for a few days.
this be our spot
Gerry, Melinda and Tucker over there
The Geo thermal electric plant here
right behind us
Gota few more walkabouts, and reading done outside, though only 70f and not sunny, dam we are spoiled, No problem though sure is much nicer than cold blustery knee deep snow.
love this cool ate?
Wandered down to the hot springs and nothing new here. Amazing as usual.
love the hot springs, will be checking them out
the lagoon is so scenic
At 3:30 we joined the bunch for their daily "Happy Hour" and shared stories and a few laughs, was fun as usual. As it cooled down we headed home to whip up supper,
they now have a tent for shade
 on the mostly sunny days
Tom took a pic with me and Suzie in
it can your see us?
Supper tonight a couple of Cod fillets done with fish crisp that we brought from home. Suzie's favourite way to do the fish.
quick and easy in a cast iron fry pan
 on our Weber Q
a grilled lemon and tasty
side salad , hit the spot
That was our fun day, relocating, some new places and new faces. Catch up with friends and enjoying this area. Like we always do. The weather gods are predicting sunshine and warmer temps starting tomorrow, just what we are here for and enjoy.
Glad that y'all dropped by and thanks for taking the time to check us out.
We are now in the Pacific time zone 3 hours after the time back home. But this is what we have to deal with for some of this wonderful weather.

Where have we been this Winter

  2. Always a scare to see a car fire, worse if it is RV itself, glad all were safe. Are you staying for the Carrot Fest? We're toying with the idea of coming out for the parade.

  3. Glad you are settled into your new digs, always nice to have friends around. I was wondering if your HR had a chevy or ford engine? Ours is a chevy and it is taking some getting use to.

    1. We have met a lot of people over the years on the road.
These are only for an hour or so a day, the rest of our days we are on our own, and enjoy the quiet times.
