Time to relocate and refuel, love the free camping areas here.

Where are we today

What another wonderful desert day we are having. We have been here for 2 weeks our $40. dollar permit is nice for 2 weeks, used the garbage , water supplies and dump station. Always a good deal. Now time to leave here or buy another permit. But we are going into Pilot Knob resort a  membership park for 2 week in 8 days, We know we can do 2 weeks boon docking so why buy a permit? So many free areas to camp for 14 days so, thats what we will do.
Before we left this morning we met Patsy's sister Gayle and her husband, from Ontario with their new Montana 5th wheel. Have heard about them and so nice to meet them in person, Apparently  they know some mutual friends, bloggers and rver's.
another lovely sunrise
We needed to dump our sewage, fill our fresh water and needed top up our propane for our coach. So We packed up camp and did all of that about 10 am.  Found a nice free area to stay for a few days close to Quartzite, new area for us. Love this lifestyle. More wide open spaces. Here we are all set up and no close neighbours other than some traffic noise from I-10. But not a big deal for us we only here for a bit anyway. We could move further away but no need right now.
oh so nice here
closest neighbour in the background
All set up before noon , enjoyed a nice light lunch another walkabout for a bit and relaxed with our e-readers under our sunscreen and awning. Temp got to 76F and was much hotter in the sun and only 23% humidity. This is what we enjoy. Yes we miss our friends, but will see them again soon.
as our super was almost done we enjoyed another
desert sunset
Tonight grilled a couple bone in chicken breasts  and added to our salad, Sure was tasty and leftovers for lunches and the makings of another pot of chicken soup soon,
chicken on our Q is what we love
yummy? yes!
That was a very relaxing day we had and looking forward to a few more.
Thanks for stopping in for a visit and really hope you had a great day too!
If you read yesterdays posting the Solar Guy we met and tweeted our system (works so much better now) very reasonable can get 160 watt solar panels for $169.00 USD. now that is a deal. Check our previous post for his website and contact info.

  2. What exactly did he do to "tweak" your solar system?

    1. He increased the battery charge rate on the controller to 14.6 volts, added a junction box for the two panels, and replaced the one broken wire connector. Yesterday we had really good full charge long before noon. Much better now.

  4. North of Quartzsite , South of Plomosa road there is also free BLM boondocking. You do not get any noise from I10 there.

    1. We really enjoy it, no reservations, wide open spaces and spending only $40.00 for the last month of camping really works for us.
