Boat cruise across the lake, sand water and Rv expo, and a tasty supper with friends.

Where are we today
clic on a pic to enlarge it
Saturday already, where does the time go? And its gonna be another wonderful day. After coffees and computing a bit I did a quick trip to the grocery store at 7:30 am to pick up a few things for supper tonight.
Then we head back down to the London Bridge to take the Ferry across the lake to Havasu Landing Casino in California.. Not to go to the casino but just to take the 15 minute boat ride across the lake for 2 dollars each return. Cheaper than the lake cruises at $20 each.
First thing I did was take a picture of these Lions. According to Anna of the Mutton Years, they are still around the financial district of London England. Thanks for the info Anna.
got our tickets here for the ferry

Then we headed back home for lunch, were gonna check out the Museum but not open until 1 pm today. So a nice light snack and I headed back do to the beach check out the Sand, Water, Rv EXPO. Suzie was not interested so she relaxed at home.
Lots of very cool dune buggies, sand rails, boats, atv's and toy hauler trailers. Which I enjoyed looking at for an hour or so and not too crowded, perfect !
one amazing machine!
read the spec below
962 horsepower used only 53 K
Then the engines on some of these boats are amazing! Can't imagine going that fast on the water, and the fuel cost would be.......
2- 400 horse power outboards
fishing Kayak
this one 2 parachutes on the back !
very nice beach
And saw a couple of very cool motorcycles as well.
Back home I prepped supper for the 6 of us. And enjoyed a Happy hour while it was cooking.
George and his brother off for a tour
yup we are sharing stories
and a few laughs
For supper I grilled a 5 lb pork loin roast and some sweet potatoes with apples and cinnamon on our Weber Q. For our Hosts George and Roseanne, and his brother Logan his wife that arrived today to visit. For the Sweet potato recipe click HERE or my recipe blog top right sidebar. When it was about ready Roseanne cooked up some corn and peas to go with it.
Thanks guys for a wonderful camping spot and your great hospitality.

  2. Always fun to look at big engines, but man oh man, I sure wouldn't want to "feed" one of them. And who wants to go that fast on the water? Truly scary.

  3. The ferry ride looks like a lot of fun. What a gorgeous day to take the ride.
Boy did some people put some money into painting those boats. At least you would be able to see them on the water.

    1. It was a perfect day for all this fun. The money for the paint snd the engines, plus fuel costs makes it a very expensive hobby. They do look wonderful though.

  4. Just a heads up...I just read another blog where the people are in the Lake Havasu area. They went to the Lake Havasu Wildlife Preserve. It looks beautiful. Just in case you are looking for something else to do.

  6. We rode the boat out to the casino and then turned around and rode it right back. The casino wasn't worth staying at anyway. Enjoy !

  7. I grew up in Lake Havasu. I lived there from 1967 (5 yrs old) until 1980 (18 years old). It sure was a fun place to grow up. Your pictures bring back a lot of memories.
