"Don't Laugh my other Car is a Rolls Royce", and that started our wonderful Sunday...amazing what we can do on the spur of the moment.

Where are we today ?

A nice quiet summer Sunday morning, bright, sunny but not very hot yet. Got my walkabout started early around 7;45 am.. Gotta work off all that amazing food we pigged out on yesterday at Pa Fest. After about an hour in town I spotted this friends car with a bumper sticker on the back of his 2 seater Smart Car. "Don't laugh my other car is a "Rolls Royce". I chuckled and walked another hundred feet or so and here he is hand washing a beautiful 1990 Rolls Royce Silver Spur in his front yard, another of Russ' Toys. He also has across the road and older Prevost motorhome he is planning to spruce up a bit and do some travelling with. Oh he also has a Motorcycle, dumptruck, skidsteer and probably more that I have not seen.
read the bumper sticker
He was giving the Rolls a good hand wash and dry getting ready to take to the Car show in Woodstock today. Notice his license plate he may just rent it out as a Limo with him as the chauffeur for a date night or whatever. I am sure he will have a few takers.
The rear seat is spacious with drop down tables and foot rests. and real wood trim, sheep skin floor mats and real leather seats. This is the real thing! Now when he was all done cleaning he even took me for a cruise about town in this amazing automobile!
I finally finished my walkabout town (couple miles) and grabbed Suzie so we could head into Woodstock about  20 minutes away for Summer Streetfest on the Main Street that has been running since Thursday.
We snagged a free parking spot on the West end of Dundas and walked the length  4-5 blocks about 400 cars to check out and store front sales, food vendors, music form the 50-60's. What a great day, and not too hot. Lotsa people and really not too crowded this morning yet.
Bullit
1962? Lotus
1960 Cadillac Eldorado
Lots of hot roads, Muscle cars  and old restored cars, lotta money here today !
Town Hall
nice old church
Gull wing Pontiac
Museum Square fountain
Even had a few young guys here with their soap box racers as well.
Woodstock Courthouse
the back of a huge church the
 front is the next pic
That was a fun morning outing a few more miles walked, some nice old cars to check out for me, and Suzie  she just had a nice walkabout and fresh air.
Home in time for a bite to eat for lunch, putter around a bit and another walkabout between reading here in the shade. What a perfect relaxing Sunday.
Then time to whip up supper. Tonight some pan fried trout that was gifted to us from our friends Rob and Pat, This was caught by their DIL (Belle) and is so tasty. Thanks guys.
the cast iron pan works great on our WeberQ
just have to get it smoking hot
and keep the lid closed
Added to a tasty green loaded salad and the lemon heated on the grill for a couple minutes really allows the lemon juice to flow. After all the food we ate yesterday we really need to get back to healthy eating again
sure did the trick
Now that was a wonderful sunny summer day with temps in the low 70's f feels quite cool compared to what we have been having.  Right now at 7:30 pm only 60f, feels like fall is in the air need a sweater to keep the cool air away already.
Thanks for stopping in again and hope y'all had a great Sunday too.

  1. Crikey ..... blokes and cars ..... I don't get it but I liked all the tyres. They're as good as trees for peeing on. Mum loved the churches and that courthouse she reckoned was something else. Just beautiful she said. Looks like you sure had a fun day.

  3. Some of those older cars are real gems! It's really fun looking at them. Terry compares all the new cars and says they look like eggs depending on who makes them. It's amazing the difference in price when they all like the same. Looks like you had another fun day.

  5. Had a chance to drive a few Rolls-Royces as a young lad, and they're everything you'd imagine. Wouldn't want to own one though, the tune-ups would be a killer.

    1. I did not drive it but the ride was wonderful. Very expensive to maintain I would think though.
