Relocating, a great deal on tires and another doggie fix for Suzie.

Where are we today ?
This morning we heading out, back to Plattsville ( Camp Awesome for a week). A nice country drive about 90 minutes.
stop in Straford for tires
We had stopped here in Stratford a couple weeks ago to get a price on 2 Michelin tires for the front of our coach they 7 years old now. Did not like the price, more than double what we paid last time. So called Mike Walsh  Back at Honeywood tires in Stratford Ontario, there on Monday and he said he has 2 BF Goodrich tires for our coach.  Only 300 miles on them, no repairs and no problems with them. And the DOT date is 0215, made this year by Michelin in France. Like the price and full warranty on them Saved $500.00 on these two tires. How does $650.00 sound (includes Install, balancing and new valve stems including taxes) compared to $1150.00 ? Sign us up we be there 11 am today. These tires came on a new truck and the guy said they were no good so he bought two new Michelins to replace them, ends up he had bent rims on his truck, he still has the same problem until he replaces the rims.
Arrived there at 10:45 disconnected the car, made a bite for lunch and Suzie off to visit her mom in New Hamburg. 20 minutes away. Mike was ready for us and took us right away. The installer is very professional his 3rd Motor home today, all done in less than an hour. Love dealing with Mike  Walsh here, great service and excellent prices as well.
This a very busy shop lots of truckers come here for their tires as well
we are on the right
a very busy place
quick install
DOT date 0215, made this past winter
made in France, by Michelin
As I was pulling out a dumptruck pulled in between the coaches for 8 new tires.
Left here about noon in to Plattsville by 12:30 and set up camp here, Suzie arrived the same time as me too.
Bonus for her the Dogs are here, Buddy and Molly so she gets to hang out with them brush them and take for a few runs out back. Suzie is in heaven!
what wonderful day
Suzie can we go for another run?
she just says go and off they went,
they love running here
More brushing Buddy and
 enjoying our e-readers
So quiet here love it.  Time for supper so fired op our Weber Q to grill a couple Venison Avocado burgers I made a while ago .Thanks to the venison gifted us from Pat and Norm at Galvin Bay resort.
The recipe for the Venison Avocado burgers is here   or check my recipe blog on the to right sidebar they were amazing and so very lean too.
out of the freezer and on the grill
burger and a salad oh so tasty
That was another productive day getting ready to hit the road in 3 weeks for a 7 month journey, so looking forward to it.
Thanks for stopping in again, we here for  week gone for a week back here for a week, then away we go !  Yahoo........

  3. Nice score on the tires.
I always get my blood pressure checked before I price tires. We run Michelin (load range E) on our pickup. Over $900 for four.

    1. Buy you tires up here in Canada Bill, your $900 is worth almost $1,200 Canadian dollars! Just don't buy any beer up here or you will lose your savings. ;)

    2. Michelins are a great tire, but so is BFG, could not turn it down. The exchange rate is excellent for Americans to come to Canada right now, not so goo for us heading south though.

  4. Tires are something that we need to replace often. It's the safe thing to do. We cringe when we have to buy them too. Oh well, at least you'll be safe on the road until the next time you need replacements.

    2. Ours failed after five years but then we always run overweight.

    3. Our Tires are overrated so will hold much more weight than we have, plus run them at maximum tire pressure too as recommended by the tire installers. Also 19.5 inch truck tires.
