Where are we today ?
More summertime weather and fun in the sun. As most of our regular readers know I like to cook. Today I felt like making a breakfast casserole and with our friends all here we had 7 hungry people. An easy and filling brunch with sausage, potatoes, onions, red and yellow peppers, variety of cheeses and a dozen or so eggs, a few fresh croisants on the side and we are good to go. (for the recipe check Recipe tab above)
Now after that meal done they wanted to go to the beach, so off they headed John, Wendy, Bill, Barb, their daughter Kim and the dogs. It's Kim's last day here, back to New York in the morning. We opted to stay at home, in the shade. Suzie had a long nap (not used to these late nights) and I puttered around, walkabouts, bike ride, chat with a few people and enjoy some more reading.
So here's how we kinda went to the beach. Wendy took a few photos and shared with me so that I could share with you. Didn't want to feel left out. Its a nice spot on Lake Huron, not over crowded, drive on the sand, crystal clear water with a nice sandy bottom, park at the waters edge, dog friendly and best of all its free!

Now we feel like we were there without having all that sun exposure, it was a nice beach day, not too hot.
So with a nice shady spot and our books, just puttered around.
I was playing with my new camera and took this cool panorama shot from our campsite.

Now we had a filling brunch today so a lighter supper will do it today. A very tasty Pickerel fillet (Walleye for our American friends) on the grill, rice pilaf and a tasty farm fresh beefsteak tomato really did the trick.
After we all had supper, hang out again, gather round another campfire, but a little earlier night. That's why Suzie had a snooze today, not used to these late nights, but they are fun. Oh and Kim made one of our favourite snacks "chicken wing dip" to munch on, its so tasty. With cooked pieces of chicken breast, ranch dressing, cream cheese, Franks red hot sauce and cheddar cheese, using scoops for dipping. You can make it with blue cheese to to give it a real authentic taste.
Glad you could join us today and kinda enjoy the beach like we did.
